These bikes are heavy but incredibly well built and my 6yo has been riding one since 5yo without issues, no problems with the weight and it's been great. It was an upgrade from his 16" bike (or 14", can't remember) first bike. The chain guard is a great feature. Bikes pretty bullet proof. I'd buy again. His next bike will be a 20" and lighter with freewheel, but this is a really great bike until then and his little brother will definitely enjoy it as well.

These are great bikes for kids ! They are a l bit heavy than the regular bikes but kids can ride it without any issues
