Got to keep pressing the trigger even when you set psi. Got rid of mine and got Ridgid instead .
I've learned to wedge the needle under the trigger to make it stay on. If I weren't dedicated to that beautiful blue-green I probably would have gone another route as well.

I'm a huge fan of LXT stuff, but this inflator is probably the worst tool I own from the lineup. I've used it exactly once for one tire, then put it back in the box, put it on the shelf, and switched back to my Ridgid, which is fantastic. (Missed the return window on the Makita, unfortunately.) Between the crappy push buttons to set the target pressure and the need to hold it continuously (workarounds posted by others notwithstanding), this one is a huge whiff by Makita. I'd only use it if there were no other option available.

Despite my love for Makita and all tools Japanese, I submit yet another vote for Ridgid.
Regardless of what tool platform you are already on it is the all-around best combination of compact, functional, and well priced.
More often than not you will find it on sale for $59.
It has a 12v cord to run off your car's power that the Makita, Milwaukee & others are sorely missing.
The Makita ,DeWalt & Milwaukee are all unnecessarily large/heavy comparatively.
Ridgid is the cheapest and has Lifetime coverage for the tool & battery.
