You can activate phone #1 to have the bundled 1-yr and units loaded to it. Then activate phone #2 WITH A TRANSFER from phone #1; service on phone #1 (phone number, 1-yr, units) get transferred to phone #2, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #2 get added on top, giving phone #2 two years of service and 2x the units.

If you're currently using a phone on TF, your can activate phone #1 WITH A TRANFER from your current phone to have your current phone number, days, units transferred to phone #1, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #1 get added on top. Then activate phone #2 with a transfer from phone #1. After that, if you prefer to use your current phone, re-activate your current phone with a transfer from phone #2. Smart existing TF users do that all the time to "harvest" cheap service days and units from those HSN/QVC bundles.

Folks, just so you're aware...

The service plan is 1500 text, 1500 minutes, 1.5gb data -- for the *entire year*. Not per month. That's about 4 minutes of talk time per day.

It's an extremely minimal and restrictive cellular plan, one that you could even call insultingly low - especially if you're used to cellular plans in modernized nations (aka, ones outside the the USA). It's not for everyone, and make sure it fits your use case.

No need to be insulted - for many people (for example, those who use less than 4 minutes of phone talk per day) paying $2 (and sometimes less) per month for a phone service which includes a new smartphone every year is a very good deal.

Not this years version, 2024. They finally stopped also from supplying the chargers. But sometimes QVC or HSN do through into the deal s charger. You have to check the specs to see if listed, but this one does not.

If your current phone with TF is in a TF account, you can do it all online:
...
2. Click on ACTIVATE near the top of the screen. Select your New Phone as one that you bought from TF (not a BYOP phone).
I'm doing service transfer from TF phone/SIM 1-year plan to NON-tracfone phone/BYOD SIM, shall I choose option:
"Keep Your Own Phone
Unlocked phones you're bringing to Tracfone."?

Any other specific steps comparing to your instruction for transfer?
Thank you.

Just make sure you choose keep your current number so everything is combined on new BYOP & give it a few hours to get everything correct.

so if I understand this correctly, to take max advantage of this offer is to have someone invite me to TF so I get bonus minutes, before I activate the phones? Could someone explain a little bit? Never used TF before and would like to stock up on minutes if I can, thanks

did a referral on 7/16/24, I got 7,000 and the new account got 8,000 (1,000 for joining the rewards program plus 7,000 for using a referral)

About the points mentioned, I believe now they are just 2,500, unless I am missing something.
Oh, and make sure if you trying to get points as a new user YOU DON'T USE A PREVIOUSLY USED EMAIL EVENTHOUGH IT SAYS NO SUCH USER WHEN YOU TRY TO LOG IN TO THAT OLD ACCOUNT. AS SOON AS YOU ACTIVATE A LINE WITH THAT EMAIL CABOOOOM!!!! YOU ARE AN OLD USR AND NO POINTS FOR YOUR NEW LINE
I also only see 2500 listed in the graphic in my account as what the referred account will get. Is there a promotion in writing for the 7000, Crazy8?

Just as additional input on these kind of activation questions, here is my experience BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT YMMV.
Activated a Moto E with 1500min/txt data on 3/2024 and was bought on HSN around 7/2021, so that is more than 2.5 years later.
Thanks. Good to know but I will not try to duplicate your experience.

TF sent out email in June for the 7,000 points Father's Day promo (HF tomseys' post [howardforums.com]) with end date of 6/30/24. I didn't expect the new account to receive 7K with the referral in mid-July but it did.

Just bought 1 for $56 including tax. I've been doing this annually for years to renew my parents Tracfone lines. I usually resell these phones to make this deal even cheaper.
When you resell the phones, do you have to remove them from your parents Tracfone account first so that your buyers can use the phones?

I have an inactive Tracfone on my account (and many other tracfones collecting dust) that I would like to give away. But wondering if they will not activate for people that I give them to if they are still associated with my account.

I had the opposite problem.
I sometimes would change phones if one cracked the screen, or I wanted to go back to an older phone.
The previous phones were always there. But this time I tried to do so, recently, and everything was gone. I used the chat, as I thought maybe the option had moved somewhere, but no, all my inactive phones were gone, and the chat person said I could not longer use the sim from the older once active phone, and had to get a new sim.
So my habit of exchanging phones are not longer something easy to do.
Not sure if there was some new policy, or if somehow a glitch wiped out my inactive phones out.
In my situation, I had to change my password on my Tracfone accounts about 6 months ago (could not get my accounts to login until I changed the PW). After PW change, I noticed Tracfone removed all my inactive phones that were on my accounts. I used to have 3 or 4 inactive phones on the accounts.

How long were your phones inactive? My very old inactive (2-3 yrs?) phones, except one, were removed this spring. The one remaining was removed last month, about a year after it was last active. So, I surmise TF is ageing out inactive phones now. I have one active phone still on the account. Just one user's observation.

I tried to transfer service to an iPhone (with the original TF/Verizon SIM) inactive for over a year, but wasn't able to. I was told to get a new BYOD SIM as the original SIM became invalid already. I tried again with a phone inactive for less than 6 months, and it worked.

To be safe, just start a chat and ask to have it removed. I've done this a few times. They might send a verification code to a phone on the account, but I don't remember.

Again for context: I'm doing service transfer from TF phone/SIM 1-year plan to 3rd party NON-tracfone phone/BYOD SIM.
