I have 3 or 4 of these 1500VA Cyberpower sine wave UPS and they are are all older than that on the original batteries, so I'm going to have to say false on that. Plus the batteries are only ~$20-40 to replace aftermarket anyway, so definitely not a paper weight.

If you don't need pure sine wave, they also have the 1350VA/810W simulated sine wave version on coupon (-$20) making it $109.99, getting it close to some of the refurb deals.

I have the earlier model of this simulated sine wave unit and after over eight years of faithful service, I had to replace the batteries (less than $40) and it's back up and running.

I think I paid $90 back then, so this price is very attractive.

I don't think I've ever seen pure sine wave that low. It may have been quasi.
For those of you that want to understand the different, just use google. You will get mixed opinions here. Of course true sine wave is "better," but it's not always necessary.

Many computers that have Active PFC (Power Factor Correction) power supplies can be damaged by simulated sine wave UPS. We have even seen component level damage in the past. Specifically power regulators on the main board.
Even some models of Cyberpower have PFC in the model name.

Piggybacking here, have two of these that are 5 years old now and the battery health is still acceptable for my needs. Software is easy to use and I get email alerts of sub voltage boosts and the like, will shut down my computer reliably if needed. Didn't realize how many incidents of over/under voltage occurred here until I got this and set up the software.

No way, I have 4 or 5 different CyberPower units around my home, some for nearing 20 years. Every 5-10 years the batteries crap out but cheap replacements are available on Amazon. When the lights flicker I have never lost any work, or during short outages.

This is good UPS, have had it ~5years for desktop Mac. Alternative today can be LiFePo4 solarchargers that have bigger battery that should last many years longer from Ecoflow and Bluetti. Sure those are not real UPS but EPS with slower reaction time for power cuts. But have been successful with Ecoflow River 2 256Whr with PC running Pfsense 24/7 and couple of switches and a modem with handful of powercuts without internet being cut. It has 2.5x battery capacity compared to this UPS.

It is same price as UPS in AMZN
