Sadly the only way to know is to try it. You'll need a charger that's at least 65 watts, but preferably 100, and a cable to match. My windows tablet came with a USB charger so that's a no brainer, but my laptop came with a charging brick and had conflicting information (probably down to model variations). It works like a champ and when connected to my 100 watt charger is slightly faster to charge than the factory brick (like 5 minutes).
I believe it could possibly damage the motherboard if it's not actually supporting. I would suggest to look up the logo beside the port for indication of USB functionality.

Yes, but do you really need that much (40GB)?

Anyone know if this can be charged via USB-C? That would make the deal for me.
No USB-C charging. But I bought USB-C female to DC male adapter for few bucks on Amazon and it works great.

Ty for the info. We really need to move on from proprietary barrel plugs to universal usb c

Also those boomer hdd companies need to get rid of the micro usb 3 port and move to usb c as well

I have the 15.6" sibling of this laptop and it works fine. Screen isn't as bad as people say, but it's true that it's either a TN panel or one of the worst IPS panels out there. Don't let the i3 label fool you: the 1215U CPU is very powerful, easily beating 11th gen i5s. The leap from 11th gen to 12th gen Intel was huge. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...-i5-1135G7

Correct specs on the RAM, but don't buy Silicon Power, the only RAM brand I ever bought that was defective. I didn't figure it out till after return period, and it wasn't worth it to go through their RMA claims process to get another stick of RAM. I'd just avoid it altogether. I got a TEAM 16GB for mine to get 8 + 16 = 24GB of RAM. 16GB dual-channel + 8GB single-channel. It works fine, because newer Intel CPUs like the 1215U have flexible memory controllers that know what to do in situations like that.

Will this take any 3200 ddr4 sodium pretty much? Can I add 8gb and run in dual channel?

You need DDR4 SO-DIMM CL22 1.2V 3200 MHz RAM. This is an example but anything else with these specs is fine (Crucial is another popular brand, but a little more expensive, which is why I went with Team): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089W8Z1CM

Install that and you get 8 + 8 = 16 GB dual-channel RAM, yes.

If I had to do it again I'd just get 8GB and call it a day, as most of the 24GB I got wound up going unused, because I abandoned plans to do heavy photo editing on my laptop and instead built a new desktop.

Please define awful, as I have one coming by mail. I don't care about angle of view.

the screens are fine -- sharp and no issues -- lot of bang for the buck at this price
the 128 nvme will be the limiting factor -- ram could be used but for many people 8 and a nvme/ssd negates a lot of that -- all depends on your usage if you are doing memory intensive things more memory will be warranted - if you plan on installing win 11 you may run into some issues -- you may be best to boot the win S mode version and switch to home -- incredibly they seem to be using hardware that win11 doesn't readily see including the trackpad which can't be used with a booted win 11 iso installer so you'll need an external mouse/trackpad -- also you'll need IRST driver to even see the nvme incredibly - add that to your win iso bootable usb if you go this route (search irst on asus.com) -- most of the unit doesn't function with win 11 stock including the trackpad and wifi and a lot of the chipset - bluetooth as well -- strangely asus drivers off their site did not work as well -- i got myasus app so it could grab the drivers and used an old wifi dongle that win could operate and was able to get the drivers (why these differ from the asus support download page is anyones guess) -- hopefully this helps if someone decides to clean install windoze from a factory state --- it may not be for everyone but if you want/need something portable that you can lose/have stolen traveling or at school/work this is a stellar machine for the $$$ - you may get lucky with an open box in good/excellent shape and save even more -- very responsive as another poster mentioned there was a serious leap at gen 12 -also many states are running back to school now so you can save on taxes making the timing on this a deal very good ... best of luck and enjoy your new system

PS the only real drawback is the battery life is probably going to average 3 maybe 4 hours -- it seems to degrade fairly quickly - have not tested but that's the estimate so far -i do recommend the myasus utility as it will let you limit charging to 80% which should increase the battery lifespan considerably

Was anyone successful at getting out of the windows S mode and not have any driver issues?
