ADB Appcontrol is probably the easiest solution for people unfamiliar with adb. It provides you with step by step instructions and a GUI, so you don't have to do everything by command line. https://adbappcontrol.com/en/

Just run the debloat wizard and it'll give you recommendations on what to disable.

Watch out on unintended consequences of this deal! I tried using the steps outlined and had to call to find out why I was ineligible.

I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

Maybe because these have tiny RAM.
I've had both the 64gb and 128gb versions (4gb/8gb ram) and the 8gb version was much less laggy.

I use these as my home assistant tablets.

Be warned, these are extremely laggy for some reason. Think galaxy s2 type of laggy. My old nexus 7 is more responsive.
That's because Samsung software is filled with bloatware, telemetry, and redundant apps

You can adb and uninstall like 100 unnecessary sys apps and it will move much faster

I think the system itself uses up almost 2GB of RAM so with the 4GB version, you're really only left with 2GB of useable RAM.

Jeez metro pricing has gone pretty crazy over these last few months.

And that BS unlock policy...really hard to justify spending money on them anymore.
In my opinion, they are trash. Customer service contributes negative value. It wasn't worth the headaches and I'm glad I left.

When does the bill cycle start?

Ex. If I want to keep my existing due date (vs prorating it) can I order this and the activate on the cycle start date? Or does it automatically activate after ship?
Doesn't matter, their systems are trash so they will try to use that to screw you. If you're an existing customer you have a standard cycle start date, but they will use your order date, then tell you it's the activation date, then shift to statement date.

Damn! I just bought it $50 from metro three days ago. Can I ask for a price match?

Update: I am chatting with metro representative. He told me that instead of price match, he get help me purchase another A9 at the promotion price. So I pay another $20 and get the 2nd A9 tablet which will bring the cost down to $25 per tablet. That is weird!

The billing date is aligned with your primiary pghone line. What Metro does is that they will charge $20 when you order, then prorated to align with primary line. The credit is applied to your next month bill. If you plan to only use it for one month then it doesn't matter. Service ends when your primary line ends.

So they don't change anything on the policy right except the unlocking policy only

It costs $25 per month without a free phone. I think I will go with $40 plan with free phone
