ADB Appcontrol is probably the easiest solution for people unfamiliar with adb. It provides you with step by step instructions and a GUI, so you don't have to do everything by command line. https://adbappcontrol.com/en/

Just run the debloat wizard and it'll give you recommendations on what to disable.

Watch out on unintended consequences of this deal! I tried using the steps outlined and had to call to find out why I was ineligible.

I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

OK....

Advice from an old timer.....

Why don't you try and SAVE MONEY and join MintSim and with the left over money you can buy yourself two tablets.

Yeah I saw that and I will call in today to see if it works.
The metro webpage says "any" phone line so I shouldnt have to go through all this nonsense.
And if it doesn't work, just call again and again and again and again... until someone makes a mistake and says YES. Then when they realize their mistake you threaten to sue them for every billion that they have.
And that is how you get something for nothing.... THE SLICKDEAL WAY.

Another way is you go to a car dealership and say... I got a gun and what is your best price on that car. If they say... just take it... you just got a free car. And if they call the police on you... you sue them for the billions that you are owed.

Hahah yeah, I called and it worked. (well, supposedly, if it ships) Rep had to temporarily change my plan, just as reported so if you value your time just sign up for the $40 plan and you can do it all online and wont have to jump through hoops or sit on the phone for an hour.

Still too much time spent on this deal, but a win is a win I guess.

Should I be able to sign up with the $40 plan to get the tablet and then downgrade?

Honest question, to get this tablet as a new user, is it worth $60 ($40 Plan + $20 Tablet plan)? I'm guessing it's locked to T-mobile, anyone try to use on another T-mobile MVNO while it's locked?

Needing a cheap tablet that can be used to stream video on long car trips for the kids.

The OP states that:
"Purchase the 64GB Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G Tablet and pay the applicable sales tax on the pre-credit price at time of purchase"

Those who live in CA pay that pre-credit tax.
Those who live in the fair and sane states do not.

Also, this T-Mo A9+ 5G version sells at the Samsung web site for $270+tax=close to $300, and without the 30 days of online service as it is with Metro, with a few hundred excellent reviews, so it's not that bad of a tablet!

You clearly hate CA and make up BS.
Those in CA pay $0 tax for this free tablet online.

If you want to do the BYOD plan and don't have an extra phone laying around, how do you get an IMEI to use? Thanks

Edit: I was able to find a phone to use and got a physical SIM card from Walmart.

Hey, no one hates CA, it's a beautiful state with some very nice people!
It's the government there that's the problem and causes people to vote with their feet!

Leave your politics out of this deal thread.
For this free tablet, there is no tax for online purchase, even for those in CA.

Anyone have issues ordering 2 tablets in one order? Would like to offset the cost of starting a new plan by selling or trading one.

I've ordered 2 phones from them 6 months ago (unlocked now). What are my chances of getting blacklisted if I order a new phone then 2 tablets vs renewing one of those phones and ordering 2 tablets?
