ADB Appcontrol is probably the easiest solution for people unfamiliar with adb. It provides you with step by step instructions and a GUI, so you don't have to do everything by command line. https://adbappcontrol.com/en/

Just run the debloat wizard and it'll give you recommendations on what to disable.

Watch out on unintended consequences of this deal! I tried using the steps outlined and had to call to find out why I was ineligible.

I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

I cant get over how much of a trash company this is.

I had to do the trick over the phone where they would temporarily change my rate plan so I could add a tablet line. They were supposed to change it back, but apparently forgot (or on purpose maybe? bigger bonus?)
Which left an outstanding charge on my account, which immediately caused it to be suspended.

A quick call should get it straightened out, right?
Nope, this garbage company will not allow you to speak to an agent if you have an outstanding balance.
No way, no how, I have tried every way to talk to a human, even chat, and they refuse.
My only option is to pay off the balance and then hope to get a refund after explaining the situation. F that.

No deal is worth putting up with this company's nonsense

He doesn't need to order on the first day of billing to get the full 30 days of the $20 tablet service. He just need to ACTIVATE on the first day of billing and thus he actually needs to order several days before the first day of billing to get the tablet delivered before the first billing day.
The $20 is not used until the tablet line is activated.
Actually if you never activate the tablet line, the $20 will be applied to your account as $20 credits and reduce your bill for next month by $20.
If you don't care about unlocking the tablet and using the tablet line service, you can actually use the $20 towards your phone bill on the same account and save $20, and the tablet is 100% free and you don't even pay extra for its monthly fee as soon as you don't activate the tablet line and you also use metro's phone service on the same account.

The $20 tablet line fee is also prorated. If you activate the tablet right in the middle of your billing cycle, $10 will be used for the current billing cycle and the rest $10 will be applied to next billing cycle as credits.
I eventually ordered on Tuesday, 8/13 and received it today, Friday. However, I see from my credit card transaction that the $20 has already been charged. But, I haven't activated yet. So, it seems like there won't be the credit.

The credit goes to your metro account, not back to your bank/credit card.

No one seems to give a Flying F*** at Metro any more.

Metro seems to be on the way of going out of business as it has changed its plans price/features structure to be on the very expensive side and non-competitive with other MVNNOs.
Also, it no longer has a retention dept as it was deleted with just the overseas customer service now that has no power to offer retention deals/plans.
This is not a company that wants to retain customers.

After closing all the Metro Corporate stores last year, Metro online may be next.
It looks as if the T-Mo recently acquired Mint will replace Metro as the T-Mo MVNO.

I was able to order this through my cell phone from metro, but not my PC. $20 for the line, no tax. I used a Visa $50 giftcard I had, perfect use for this. Hope I can order a 2nd.

Already have 2 metro phones, hoping I can order another iphone 12.

My orders were cancelled several times at the "Verify Identity" stage. The system didn't let me do identity verification and it cancelled my orders right away after I hit the Next button to do identity verification. Suck ..

I think I misunderstood. I thought you meant that I won't be charged until I activate. Thanks.

I can help you with that. Call them again and select the option to cancel the line and you will get a live person. Revert to your original plan with their help.
Don't forget to thank me later once this works!!

Ported in a number on the $25.00 unlimited plan on Thursday and immediately added the tablet. On Friday the tablet shipped and I activated it and ordered a 2nd tablet. Last time this deal was live, I ended up with I believe 14 tablets using different email address.

Did you get stuck a couple days sometimes? Last time I got 8. Sometimes I'd have to wait a couple days before it would let me order my next one. This go round I'm having trouble ordering my 10th.

Anyone's tablet get stolen? It was marked as delivered and looks like a rando or neighbor stole it. Ups site said sender has restricted claims. Chatted with metro and they directed me to a link to fill in. Just wondering what others experience has been?

Yes, it was very glitchy especially trying to get the fourth tablet on the account.
