Beware, Greenworks Tools has a 1.25 out of 5 at the Better Business Bureau (166 customer reviews).

If you ever need customer service be prepared to wait at least an hour to get someone on the phone...not exaggerating, I've done it.

By the way, a replacement battery for this tool (Greenworks brand) is about $200.

Incorrect about the batteries? This appears to come only with the 4ah battery

The 80 Volt 2Ah Battery should add to your cart automatically when you add the chainsaw.

This is the best deal ever for this saw. IIRC, the one-and-only previous dip to $249 did not include the extra 2AH battery.

The 2Ah battery is added by the website when you add the chainsaw bundle (saw, charger & 4Ah battery) to your cart & choose a pickup location.

Great post OP! Man I am so tempted. I really want to wait for this one https://www.acmetools.com/milwauk...=affiliate

But even on the best sale for that saw it's going to be three times the price of this one. Decisions decisions.

I own the 16" version, and used it all last winter in my woods, for firewood. I own a gas stihl, but used my 16" greenworks all winter, it was phenomenal and it was so nice not using a loud messy gas stihl...I just bought this 18" version...the batteries alone are worth the price.

Just realized this was 80V 4AH + 2AH (=320Wh+160Wh=480Wh). This is pretty slick. I was comparing it to the Ryobi 18" and new 20" 40V HP saws that generally come with 40V 5AH (=200Wh) since I'm already in that ecosystem but this would be more than double the capacity and at this price this is super tempting.

Can anyone speak on Greenworks battery/tool quality and warranty? I really trust Ryobi so wondering how it compares. I've also smoked quite a few plug-in 18" Kobalt saws that cut really, really well before they died on some heavy oak projects (not enough cooling for the given bar size) and fear the battery electric saws might be similar. I would end up putting these through their paces as well and would love to transition away from carburetors.

Yea, that replacement battery is $134.99 right now. Batteries are always steep. Good thing this deal comes with two total batteries.

I also own a Stihl chainsaw that has served me well for years, man I use it so much I've worn that thing out, it was one of the lower models anyway. Ms170. About how much cutting time do you get from the 4ah battery?

I think there are some video reviews on YouTube that detail the longevity, but I don't recall the exact numbers

If you are a costco member I would recommend buying the 80v batteries from them. That way if something goes wrong you can simply take them back to Costco for a swap out. Also Costco extends the warranty on the 80v battery line to 8 years if you buy them from Costco.
I actually just checked the Costco website and they no longer extended to eight years, but I was thinking the same thing but the price difference is pretty substantial so I bought this one way better deal even without the 2 Chain and the case from Costco

I have a bunch of green Work stuff and it seems to be pretty good so far. I did get one battery that was bad and I called Green Works and they were quick to replace it after some troubleshooting. They just sent me a new one.
