Add the fan and the free gift battery to the cart for $59.

After placing the order, within 5 minutes, go back to the order and cancel the free battery. This results in the fan's price is only $26.99+tax. YMMV as I was using an HD Android App, which allowed me to cancel immediately after placing the order, while my friend (used an Iphone app) had to wait for 5-10 minutes for the order to show up.

You can also wait for both items to be delivered and return the battery in-store for the same net price for the fan, or sell the battery. Happy hacking!!!

Edit: thumbdowns all you want. Home Depot has allowed this type of deal/hack for years. If they allow it, I will do it. There is clearly a price attached to each item. A price that HD sets themselves. I did not force them to give me that price.

I couldn't cancel single items online or via ios app so I contacted live chat. Took a while but they cancelled the battery for me

Can not cancel battery, only entire order. Ordered fan and bat from two different stores. My guess is that I can call the store and cancel the battery given its a separate line item on receipt? Also, the battery is not in stock and will take a few days to go to the store.

Here what I did placed two orders contacted the CSR on chat he was able to remove the battery

Called CSR to cancel battery and for a PM on Shell Diesel oil that has a rebate per a SD. The PM was for $1.50 off per 1 gal jug. I wanted to also use my 10% off HD CC coupon but he could not get that to work. So, he gave me a straight $20 off for the two 1 gal jugs of oil.

Still working. Just did it on iPhone app. Took a few minutes for the order to show in purchase history but I was able to cancel the battery only.

because worst case is you just let the battery get RTS'd, or return the battery as you are walking out. The only way this won't work for you is if one of the items is unavailable.

The fan just started making noise and it popped off the bearing.

Made an account on Ryobi. Ticket opened last month with like a less than 1 week resolve. Got the replacement in 2 days.

So yeah, the support on it got me happy my tool stuff are all Ryobi.

I, too, had to send in my fan for a noisy bearing and my replacement is on it's way back to me as we speak. You can't beat their warranty. I own their 18v stick vacuum and the floor tool stopped holding itself upright, and they sent me an entire new kit, including a battery.

Great fan, especially in this summer heat. Use it for soccer. Like others have mentioned, you can use battery or standard 110v plug. Built well. Good motor that pushes a lot of air. Well worth the asking price, even if you don't have RYOBI batteries.

What exactly are you stealing in this scenario? You would normally receive both items for $60. Instead, you are receiving just one item for $27, because that's what Home Depot feels it is worth as it's part of the bundle. You paid for it, and it's lawfully yours. No theft whatsoever.
