Got this a month ago not on sale, saw it on sale, and got a price adjustment done online. e.z-p.z

Pros
* very effective at pulling the water out of the air

Cons
* loud relative to my prior dehumidifier
* puts out quite a bit of heat

Notes:
*I keep it downstairs so the noise isnt much of an issue
*Heat is off putting in the summer. Will be fine in winter, but likely wont run as often (here in the northeast)
*I keep it at 55%, and my govee at the other end of the room ~20ft reads btwn 54-57
*Havent used the pump yet, but will look to rig something up (no drain/sink downstairs)
*From what I've read, when using the pump, it wont kick on until the internal reservoir fills
up

Overall, happy with initial purchase. Would rate 4.2-4.3/5, might bump it up if/when i utilize the pump.

Got some bad news for you, that's how (all) portable dehumidifier's work..

I've owned this for a couple months. Here are my thoughts. The fan is pretty loud on low and high, don't put it near you. It does a great job dehumidifying a large space. Last I checked, my kill-a-watt estimated a $7/month electricity cost. It runs often. The pump feature works flawlessly; I have it routed to a sump pump.

My biggest complaint: the evaporator will frost over. The unit will continue to run and get really loud. This is a pretty big annoyance (noise). My previous dehumidifier off Amazon never had this happen in the same space.

Overall, I recommend it as long as you aren't going to be close to it while it's running.

Edit to add: it does eventually shut off to let the evaporator defrost, but it's not immediate. I've manually turned it off to defrost it a few times bc I couldn't deal with the noise until it figured it out itself.
If it's iced over, it's low on refrigerant. There's a leak, I had a midea cube that iced exactly one year after I got it. Apparently, these days they made these units to die in 1-2 years. There will be no water collecting in the bucket and you'll be wasting electricity.

Don't forget to check your electric utility for rebates, if you are in Illinois, you can get 45 bucks back. https://www.comed.com/ways-to-sav...ce-rebates Make sure this model is eligible of course.

I bought this at 139.99 a month back online as a part of July 4 sale, do you think they will price match this in store?

I have one of these. Works great except the humidity sensor is off by 10-15%. I have 3 other hydrometers that show the same humidity so think the dehumidifier is wrong. Anyway to calibrate or return?
Same issue here, although mine was off by slightly lower %. Still aggravating.
And I think the Midea dehumidifiers are great, but their electrical usage can rapidly outpace the unit costs. I'm at 32 cents/KWH in MA. I found a few things to help optimize.

First I bought a Govee thermometer/hygrometer for $4.99 w/ free shipping;

https://us.govee.com/products/ref...le=1*H5075
It is much more accurate than the Midea one.
(In Incognito mode, you'll get a pop-up for instant code of $5 off your order; enter a random email)
The Govee app can push alerts to your phone and can show historical data.

Second I bought a $10 TP-link energy monitoring smart plug (15 amp, UL listed) to monitor and schedule operation.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LN3C...tails&th=1
If it's on Auto, and unless you otherwise do something to remediate the humidity, the Midea unit is likely to run frequently, and do so without regard to time of day, electricity costs, etc etc. The Midea will retain its settings if the power goes. The wattage data from the plug app in conjunction with the humidity results from the Govee app led to setting up a smart plug schedule that has the humidifier being on for only 10 hours a day (at different times).
I wish the two apps were more closely integrated, but there you go.

Last thing - if you are in MA and your utility is a MassSave participant, you can get a $40 rebate on qualified Energy Star dehumidifiers.

I had to turn mine off/on manually every few days to get the compressor to start working again

But I will say - the Costco return policy is great!

I got the govee one after this and I've never seen anything packaged as well as it was. It even has notifications on my phone when the bucket is full

Works great until it doesn't. Also very loud. I should have just bought one of those commercial dehumidifiers like my friend has in his commercial building. Those things are tanks.

This is a great dehumidifier. Got this model BC (before covid) for $99. Has worked like a charm, like the built-in pump action.

Anyone know if this will work with an external humidistat? I.e. After power is cut will it turn back on in same mode?

Freeze up is a problem I've experienced too. Manually I turn the level up to 60% (so compressor turns off) and turn fan on high and it clears the ice within seconds.

Anyone know if this is cheaper in store? Also, does anyone know how long the power cord is?

Any idea what brand name your friend uses? Thanks!

Is it too big for a 1100sq ft apartment? We are getting like 80% humidity readings daily average
The unit is compact. I use it for my basement which is about 1250sqft and works great, easily maintaining humidity to 50%. Very happy with the unit and its versatility.

What is the reason for blowing hot air?
