4 Gallon, 5.0 Peak HP Wet Dry Vacuum with filter, hose, accessories and car cleaning kit.

This is $50 off regular price, so essentially get the car cleaning kit practically thrown in for not much extra (car kit is regularly priced at $54). I did see this last December for about $99, so it is not the lowest I could find, but I missed the sale back then and am going to jump on it now.

Just as an addendum, depending on your desired usage, you may want to consider also picking up some Dust Bags (I think it takes Ridgid Type C bags), as well as a separate filter specifically made for Wet Debris.

Although this vacuum is far from perfect, whenever posted here on Slick Deals, it seems to be fairly popular and get mostly positive comments, from what I have seen.

I can only comment from things I have read on other postings for this and similar units. Some seemed to complain that due to the placement of the motor and filter, especially with the bag in place, there is not much room for much to be suctioned up......I have been looking for similar vacuums and have looked at those from other companies like Dewalt, which seem to get much worse comments on here.....so after a bit of research here and elsewhere, for a small unit, I am settling on this model. Some recommended going for one of the larger units.....but I, personally really do not have any use for larger. I saw some comment on the suction ability, but again, it seems the Dewalt is less optimal. I was unable to find a "great" vacuum of this size, but kind of will settle for what some seemed to comment was the better or best of a few similar sized models. Perhaps I can let you know more once mine comes on Thursday, lol......and I have used it for some time. Home Depot does have a pretty good return policy.....and given that the lowest price for this that I could see was only $5 less, figured it was worth trying it for a short while and given that it is now $50 off and comes with the car cleaning kit...worth a try. Also, I forgot...there were also comments, I think that the diameter of the car cleaning tubing is different from that of the standard tubing, so that the accessories for the car are NOT interchangeable with the other accessories that come with the vacuum. (don't hold me to that, but I think that might be true).

The car hose is ~25-50% narrower, but that's on purpose. You can use the regular hose if you have larger debris to pick up.

I have the larger vac with the car kit and it's pretty useful. The narrower hose is much easier to deal with inside the vehicle.

Yes, I wasn't saying it was a disadvantage to have a narrower hose. It seems pretty universal that everyone had thought this premium hose was a plus. I did notice some comments though either on here or in reading Home Depot reviews that some people had expected to be able to use the car cleaning attachments when using the standard hose, or to be able to use the standard vacuum attachments, when using the car cleaning hose. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it is both narrower and made of a more flexible material, so it is easier to manipulate in the car. (compared to the standard hose that comes with the vacuum itself as well as compared to the standard car cleaning kit.)

This vac is great, it's basically geared to auto-detailing. I own one and have loved it when i use it. it was the most powerful vac in the smallest size when i purchased it years ago. That may have changed, but "5hp' is impressive for this size.

It's very small though. for this price for the average home owner I'd 100% recommend the DEWALT 12 Gallon STEALTHSONIC from lowes for $120. It's SO quiet and the basin is far sturdier.

i still use this small ridgid for auto detailing with a bag. however anything nasty or wet goes in the dewalt.

There is a 4 gallon 6ph Ridgid vacuum that also has a detacheable blower for the same price, it's only missing the auto detailing kit. So compared to OPs one it has 1 more horsepower and is basically a 2in1.

Yes, I am aware of the similar model with the blower option. I live in a high rise condo and have no need for an air blower of this size though, but do think it is a good option for those who want both. Another thing this model is great for is sucking up the remaining water in a toilet tank for when you need to do simple toilet repairs (presuming you buy the black foam filter which is optional for about $15-20 at Home Depot). It is much better than repeatedly using sponges or towels to try and sop up that remaining water.

A relative of mine is debating on buying the dewalt vacuum from Costco. It's also 5 HP but 8 gallons.

Anyone have any feedback on the DeWalt?

Nice find OP. I've seen rigid vacs go thru serious abuse and continue to perform. The upgraded hose makes this worth it. Orig hose is no good. Accessories countertwist on for those who think it's "broken".

If anyone checks back to this post...just wanted to add that my vacuum and car detailing kit came today. Used it to vacuum the inside of my car. The premium hose and attachments made cleaning much easier. The 20 foot AC cord was very helpful as well. I used the optional dust bag in the vacuum. So far, I would highly recommend this unit. Very easy to use. Very light, and the wheels make maneuvering around the car very easy as well.

Just adding a note that this combo deal appears to periodically come back in-stock briefly before selling out again quickly. If anyone is interested in it, they should refresh the item page at least daily (the "Notify Me" function does not seem to catch these brief restocks).
