Was $449.99, reduced to $349.99 ($100 coupon) now remaining stock (in my area, YMMV) is listed at $299.97!

This unit uses a dual port (single) hose to keep cool intake air separated from warm exhaust air proving to be far more efficient than single port hoses which mix intake air withwarm exhaust air. We needed this as an emergency supplement to our daughter;s condo HVAC system while down for repairs, and it's working like a charm.

SPECS:

12,000 BTU DOE: 3-in-1 Comfort Cools, Ventilates, and Dehumidifies
Inverter Technology Delivers up to 40% Energy Savings Compared to US Federal Standard
Matter Certified Unit with App & Voice Control: Control From Anywhere with the Smart Home App
2X Stronger, 2X Faster vs Single Hose Portable ACs, with 25ft Long Distance Airflow
MShield Air Ionizer Technology: Reduces Odors, Smoke, and Gases in the Air

Houston and all the power outages that we've been getting. With this you can at least cool a room off a generator and not have to die in this 100+ degree heat with humidity.

I had 2 of these. One of em never worked properly, it was like only the fan engaged. And so it was a return. The other one works but the window AC (non portable) definitely brings in cooler temps than this portable version. Also, just after 2 summers with light use (low power, 77 temp, and ran 6-8 hours a day during summer) the motor cage was gross. This unit is absolutely not easy to service and it took me I think 7 hours to clean the inside... just something to consider. And yes, ACs get nasty inside you have to clean em. Unfortunately these manufacturers don't care about and don't make it easy at all to open it up and service it. Cleaning the easy 5 min pre filter or spraying a can into it is not real cleaning by the way.

Thanks so much for your post! Bought this less than a month ago, but costco would not refund the difference. Found the last one in store and immediately went to the returns line and returned with my original receipt. Saved $100!

I've had this exact portable AC (Midea Duo) for 3 summers now including this summer. I also have 2 of their window ACs (the 8k btu and the 12k btu). As I said, the window ACs are stronger even when comparing 12k to 12k btu. I would advise getting the window unit if possible but I understand not everyone can do it or they have a need to move it around. I will say though that the portable feature is kind of... moot? Not exactly but not as portable as you may think. First of all, forget about carrying it across floors... that's absolutely not practical as this thing weighs a lot. Even on the same floor I don't really recommend frequent moving. And that's because of the hose. That hose gets brittle and will crack if you keep adjusting it. It happened to me. So the Midea Duo doesn't really have much benefit over the window AC.. it costs more, it doesn't cool as well, it uses slightly more power (measured by an Anker power station), can't really move it around too much or else you may have issues.... I only recommend it if your HOA or apt won't let you put a window AC on. The only benefit for me is that it fits wider windows, you don't have to remove the window screen, and you could push it into a closet after the summer.

This used to be 4 in 1 with heat. Rebadged as Panasonic sometimes. That was the only reason for me to get this over a traditional window unit. If your window can support it get the unshaped one.

North Carolina. Summer storms, hurricanes and overhead power lines means lots of outages when it's 98 degrees and 98% humidity. At least you can keep the bedroom cool with a portable or window ac and a generator.

One of our AC units (tri-level condo with 2 AC units) went out last summer. I decided to wait for the Inflation Reduction Act rebates to go live in my state (CA....still waiting) before replacing my unit, since if I do both at once I can get up to $16k off.

I bought one of these Midea units (the 4 in 1 with heat that Costco had last year) and it's been absolutely fantastic. So good that when our 2nd AC unit went out this summer, I immediately tracked down another one (got a used unit for $150 at a local outlet store - Woot also had refurbished ones for $199 a few days after I got mine). I'm easily cooling ~1,500+ sqft with the two units.

Edit: Check the specifications (they should be in the PDF manual) to make sure it'll fit your window. The provided plastic pieces require the window to be significantly wider than the hose itself. I ended up making my own window piece out of a small sheet of acrylic in order to use it in a smaller window.

Eh, I think it's portable for a reasonably strong man or a very strong woman. I used to move mine downstairs in the morning and back upstairs in the evenings when it was really hot and my daughter wanted to play on the 2nd floor. It weighs about 75 lbs and the grab handles on the side are completely useless unless you have tiny hands. I usually just bear hug it and haul it up and down the stairs. Doable, but not much fun.

That's what we did, as well. The unit we got for our daughter was actually purchased one day over the one month limit (arrrrgh) when we saw the rebate! No problem though, thanks to Costco's generous return policy we picked up another one in the store and promptly returned it for a credit of the original purchase price 0f $449.99. Glad it worked out for you as well... gotta' love Costco!
