If you're looking to buy a P9, definitely do so at Best Buy over Google store:

1. BB GC has more flexibility vs. Google Store credit
2. BB will deduct taxes off your trade = more saving
3. Trade instore = no headache vs. send in trade to Google's 3rd party
4. Easy return/replacement should there be some defects. Google CS is horrid.

Check the trade in values against the Google Store. Best Buy has a better trade in for the 6a but Google a better one for the 8.

Though a $100 Best Buy gift card is better for most people than a $100 Google Store credit, so that's a factor too.

Just checked in the store in the evening. It gives identical values to the online trade in process. Not sure how some people are getting $799. Maybe it's regional.

Was this a new purchase done in store?
Did they give you a Pixel 9 today? Or it's just like online preorder?

Do you think Best Buy will give the full $799 credit for acceptable condition? I'm just wondering if I need to find an iPhone 12 in good or excellent condition.

Honestly, no clue. I guess I'll see what I get from Amazon.

August 13th. Ordered a lot from Metro before. They usually ship the same day. I think they blocked the address or something maybe. Never seen more than 72 hours pass without shipping. No order confirmation either. Called CSR and they said they don't see the order in the system.

That means this is likely gone and won't be fulfilled. The pending charge will drop off tomorrow. Bad luck this time for me.
I never ordered from them yet nothing shipped for 48 hrs. I'm guessing this is the $799 trade in effect, too many iPhone 12 orders? I see pending charge but no confirmation email 🤔

Edit: it finally shipped! Patience is a virtue!!

As long as the back isn't cracked you should be good. Read the BB good vs. fair trade in descriptions Cool

For Best Buy trade-in, I see:
- Good: Signs of normal use, light wear and tear.
- Fair: Moderate wear and tear and/or damaged back glass, item fully functional.

While Amazon's acceptable is: May have a small number of shallow scratches that are invisible when the screen is turned on.Light scratches, clearly visible when holding the product 12 inches away, and perceptible to touch

So, it sounds like Amazon's acceptabl is in between Best Buy's Fair and Good?

I selected "Good" for trade-in as I was expecting a brand new phone from Metro, which doesn't seem to be happening.

Sounds more like "good" to me. I purchased a phone in "good" condition and it looks nearly new. As long as the back glass isn't cracked....which it won't be....Amazon "fair" should clear BB as "good." But I'm not a lawyer nor an expert.

*Edit* Yes, this is a new purchase today and hour ago. Not pre-ordered online ahead of time

Thanks! I can confirm this. woot

Whole process:

Took carrier locked Straight Talk iPhone 12 64gb to store. It showed up trade in value of $145. After inputting all of the IMEI info (rep only checked condition, didn't check carrier or anything...I told him Verizon) the next page showed promotions. Rep had to find the coupon code for additional $654 off.

Total was $145 + tax (so ~$160), rep used the $145 trade in gift card to apply to the balance so all I had to do was pay taxes on the $145 (under $15 of taxes).
Then he printed out the info and also gave me a $100 gift card to take home.
Glad to hear it worked

Is it possible to exchange the unopened pixel 9 for the iPhone 16 when it's released next month?
