If you're looking to buy a P9, definitely do so at Best Buy over Google store:

1. BB GC has more flexibility vs. Google Store credit
2. BB will deduct taxes off your trade = more saving
3. Trade instore = no headache vs. send in trade to Google's 3rd party
4. Easy return/replacement should there be some defects. Google CS is horrid.

Check the trade in values against the Google Store. Best Buy has a better trade in for the 6a but Google a better one for the 8.

Though a $100 Best Buy gift card is better for most people than a $100 Google Store credit, so that's a factor too.

Phew! I'm waiting for my phone to be delivered which is in acceptable condition. I guess we will find out when we go to the store on pickup/trade in day!
I bought an acceptable one from Amazon and it's in basically excellent condition. Can't locate single scratch really

Isn't there a charge for switching device online? I thought it was like $25 or so.
I just tried it and it worked without any fees. What I did was
- install metropcs app on the iphone12
- in the app, select "switch device", follow instructions and it generates the esim QR code in the last step
- in the other phone ( samsung s24u in my case), scan the QR code in the sim manager, let it set up

Everything works well after the switch, call/msg/data. I removed the esim from the iphone 12 - it shows no service

For mailed in trade in devices what happens if they reject your trade in. Do they send you back your device?

Like I said this is regional likely. I went to my local Bestbuy and the mobile rep pulled up the $345 in the system that he was using in the store - the total of base price and promotional trade in value. He said that there was no record of $799 anywhere. I think this deal is over except for a few who got lucky.
There is a process they need to follow. I went to the local store and no one had any idea. They asked the manager there and he had to train the person on how to do it

Thanks. Can it lock the other phone to Metro? I mean if the esim is transferred to another phone, and that other phone is unlocked, will Metro lock it if you transfer esim? Thanks.

It should not. Right now I have both metro and us mobile sim active on the phone

So, I got my S23+ from Amazon today, The phone is good, but the screen has a lot of scratches and a couple small "gouges" does this knock it down to damaged?

Also I bought "factory unlocked" but it came "t-mobile, unlocked" will that matter on trade? It's the same color and GB, and it is "unlocked"

For those who were able to get it to work in store, can you share what state you're in?
Hopefully we can settle whether this is regional or not.

No, I had to give them the iPhone at the time of preorder. They validated the condition and checked the IMEI.

Amazing! I'm waiting for mine to be delivered. Who was your seller? Mine was shipped and sold by ElectronicDeals on Amazon.

All, for clarification:

I went into best buy yesterday after seeing the trade in values reduced online to see if there was any reason for that.

The guy at the mobile counter had all the trade in prices printed off in a stack. He noted that it showed 799 credit for the iPhone 12 against the pixel 9. he was also able to see that the online trade in was showing much less.

I'm not sure what process he did in store, but I had to trade in my iPhone 12 when I placed the pre order. He mentioned it was a 145 dollar trade in with a 645 dollar promotional credit on top.

I paid 118 dollars to get a pixel 9 256gb for pickup on release day, and received the 100 dollar gift card to use immediately.

There seems to be two ways they can process this, maybe not every employee knows.
That's really weird that he took your iPhone trade-in upfront. I've never heard of that before. Amazing he gave you the full $799 though.
