Trade-in values are based not just on your trade, but also on what model you're buying. When trading an iPhone 12 / 13, you'll get the best trade value when buying a similar model of new Pixel. For example:
iPhone 12 / 13 Pro will get a $999 credit toward a Pixel 9 Pro (update: now $899 credit for 12 Pro)
iphone 13 Pro Max will get a
iPhone 12 Pro Max unfortunately does not receive extra bonus credit

Though a $100 Best Buy gift card is better for most people than a $100 Google Store credit, so that's a factor too.

So then I tried to pre-order one of each: P9 in Porcelain, and P9 Pro in any color. His system showed only the P9 available for pre-order in Black (but I already have one in Black on preorder from before), and he was unable to pre-order any color for the P9 Pro as that model was simply unavailable to him to order.
He recommended checking the product page online and if it shows available as Pre-Order, then he should also be able to order it on his end. He also said to make sure the store selected on the BB website was the one I wanted to pick up from, as that would better indicate availability on his system.
Lastly, I asked him if it would be possible to change the color of the Black one I had already pre-ordered, to the Porcelain one on pick-up day, and he said it wouldn't be a problem, and I would not be charged a restocking fee if it is unopened.
I also showed him my iPhone 12 to see if it would meet the full trade-in value and he said it would, noting that they are really only looking for cracks in the screen/back glass or heavy dents/dings. FWIW, I would rate my IP12 as "Fair" condition: screen has lots of scratches, but back and sides are in good condition with very minor cosmetic wear and tear.
I guess I'll wait and see if anything changes with the p9 Pro product page to indicate availability and then go in and try my luck.
Honestly, I would be surprised if the lower trade in values don't come up in his system at that point, and if he is able to give me the full value as listed on his printout.
- install metropcs app on the iphone12
- in the app, select "switch device", follow instructions and it generates the esim QR code in the last step
- in the other phone ( samsung s24u in my case), scan the QR code in the sim manager, let it set up
Everything works well after the switch, call/msg/data. I removed the esim from the iphone 12 - it shows no service
I wonder if i can save that qr screenshot and transfer to the pixel9 after handing in the trade

The high trade-in values are still valid in stores per employee pamphlets, i.e. ip12 for p9 and ip12p for p9p and ip13pm for P9PXL.
Hope this helps and the employee didn't care if I was reading their stuff. Is suggest going in store once you see the pre-order available and get it done.
