90% of morons on this thread will ruin the deal by asking dumb questions to Best Buy and possibly altering them to check trade in phone in details. Just keep your mouth shut when you go there to pick up the phone

Any way to search for model number for a particular phone using IMEI? Purchasing a phone and I know the IMEI, but not the model number.
Go to imei check sites it'll show you. imeicheck.com or imei.info

No phone is 100% perfect. I use both Galaxy (S21U earlier, S22U recently) and Pixel (6P, 7P earlier, 8P for the past 8+ months), Pixel is better in fluidity (no lag) and Camera (fast, better pictures, better shots of moving objects with no blur). Battery life is always Ymmv as it's varies greatly based on many factors (Screen usage, types of apps, streaming, GPS, gaming etc..)
I forgot and remembered now why I never wanted a pixel phone. You can't remove the damn Google search bar. Deal breaker. I'll just keep the s23u until something better comes along.

You can just install a different launcher and that bar will be gone

any idea how long one has to send in the trade in after its delivered? I'm going to be out of the country till right after labor day. (the Pixel Pro might not be an issue for that if it comes back in stock, as itslater, but the other 2 are more problematic then)

BB won't care, just make sure it's the correct color and maybe storage
I asked Best Buy support if the color matters and they told me color is not important for trade in.

Exactly. Also, timing up procuring a phone first (to know exact model) with waiting for P9 Pro to go back in stock. Does anyone know if you can order and change the trade in model later if needed?
They told me they cannot change the tradein device but they dont care about the color. I guess they wont care about the model number either. As long as it is an iPhone 12 Pro in good condition it will be ok.

But did they reject the trade in? Did they change the value? If not, it means it does not matter.

Any recommendations for safest IMEI checker to utilize? Ideally one that will tell me the model number.

That's kind of my point. I doubt the company handling the trade-ins are taking all the steps to find the model number. I would assume they are just popping it on to check the IMIE.
Honestly who knows though, because if they are running a diagnostic of some kind on each phone to asses condition, make sure cameras and speakers work then they might. The info on the setup screen just lists the generic iPhone part number A2341 for example, which I think includes many different carrier sub models. That part number is an iPhone 12 Pro USA version. As far as I know all of those had the same value as long as they were all 128GB versions for example.

I sent Best Buy a message and they responded saying as long as the specs are the same I should be fine. Kind of reassuring but not completely.

I can't tell you about shipping a trade in. But I absolutely have traded in way different model of iPhones and Android phones into a Best buy store and have never ever been told once the stupid arbitrary model number that basically doesn't mean anything because all US phones are the same these days won't work. So I wouldn't stress at all over this stuff. If anything you are making best buy see this and get strict in the future. I wouldn't worry whatsoever. I myself will check everyday until release if the in-store pick-up opens up on these and then just do everything in the store cause I have history doing that. It's just this year is weird because this specific phone model comes out 2 weeks after the other ones.
Examples. I've traded in locked a simple mobile iPhone SE 3rd gen I bought down the street from BB at a Walmart last year and drove up the street and traded it in as a "Verizon" phone and nobody cared.

For in store they don't run any tool, only Apple does this with their iPhone trade in. Idk about trade in via mail tho.

Even if you send it in? Or do you mean for trading at a store?
