90% of morons on this thread will ruin the deal by asking dumb questions to Best Buy and possibly altering them to check trade in phone in details. Just keep your mouth shut when you go there to pick up the phone

Most users have generally had good luck trading them in as long as the basic info matches up. It's a good idea to use the right model where you can, but I probably wouldn't sweat it in a situation like that. It seems that in-store is usually the best way to go based on other users … I've seen some people who say the mail-in route can be more problematic at times.
I've posted this before but via bb chat, the guy said that as long as the iPhone model, size and color match it doesn't matter if it's locked or unlocked. However they will have different model numbers so I dunno how that will work

unfortunately 9 pro models are only open for shipping so mail in is required

Yeah, it sounds like it should be OK based on the BB chat, but I've seen one guy mention that the mail-in route can sometimes be a pain and unfortunately, you don't have much of an opportunity to argue and plead your case if those guys give a problem. I'd probably still go for it, but others have mentioned similar concerns and may be looking for other options like switching their order to in-store pickup or maybe see if they can go in-store to do the trade in lieu of mailing it in once the Pixel is received. It might be a good idea to watch for those discussions and see if anyone comes up with some kind of workaround like that when the release date gets closer.

You think Google is directly affecting trade in values on the Best Buy site? God bless you

There are two parts to the "trade-in value" on this phone. There is a base trade value ($145 for the iPhone 12, for example) and then there is a "trade-in promotion" added to that value for some phones (originally $654 for the iP 12). The promotional portion is almost certainly subsidized by Google to target specific device users and boost its new phone launch. That promotional part has dropped very quickly at times, bringing down the trade value significantly. They may have had some kind of arrangement to scale that promotion down as certain sales numbers were reached.

Please help!! I ordered a pixel 9 pro and purchased an iphone 12 pro 128gb graphite through ebay. When I submitted my trade in I selected the iphone 12 pro 128gb graphite from the drop down and I believe it had a model number of MGLN3LL/A. I just received the iphone 12 pro, I looked in settings and saw that it's model number MGK13LL/A. I've looked up both model numbers and can't find anything different between the two (both same model, same storage, same color). Does anyone foresee any issues for me? I'm considering returning the one I got and specifically purchasing one with the model number I selected.
I'm in same boat. I'd like to know as well

The other guy doesn't understand how pricing / promotions strategies and how supplier funded promotions are implemented, leave it be …

So just checked the phones I'm trading in and unfortunately it looks like it has a model number of MGJM3LL/A. I had selected "Verizon" since I needed to select any of the phone options. According to (https://www.techwalls.com/iphone-...fferences/), all of the options that BB listed were for the Unlocked version, so it would have been impossible to select the appropriate model number anyway...

Unsure why this was thumbed down, I'm just stating facts and looking for input.

iPhone settings->general->about contradict that statement. See attached screenshot.

I have a Tmobile iPhone 12 Pro 128gb blue (original purchase) and the model# in settings on phone is MGKK3LL/A while Bestbuy lists the Tmobile iPhone 12 Pro blue model# as MGLR3LL/A which is the same model# that shows up no matter if you select verizon, att or sprint.

Anyone have prior experience with trading in a phone that has very minor scratches? Like on the scale of one scratch being half an inch, and maybe two others that are a quarter inch?

Does the trade in phone need to be paid off? I bought a refurbished one from Walmart and it's still under ATT installment plan.

looks like trade in values changed, making this deal way less valuable.
