09/13 - Trade in processing has slowed down, a trade in that was delivered to Chino,
CA on 09/06 wasn't processed until 09/13, representing ~5 business days from delivery to assessment. Kentucky was processing trades faster, with a ~1 business day turnaround reported on 09/12 when the delivery was made on 09/11.
09/05 - Best Buy no longer issues "trade in kits" (boxes with prepaid labels). Once your Pixel 9 Pro is delivered and the Best Buy order status shows delivered (their system lags behind UPS), you'll get an email with the next steps. You need to go into the Order Details page on BB.com, sign in and then you can print a pre-paid UPS label for the trade-in. Save a copy of the tracking number for your records and make sure it gets scanned in to the UPS system when you drop it off.
Trade ins will likely be delivered in bulk, but UPS should still show a delivered scan. IT WILL TAKE TIME FOR THE TRADE INS TO BE PROCESSED, DO NOT FREAK OUT IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN INSTANTLY. As of 09/04, they were processing trades that were delivered on 08/29 - so at least 4 business days. It WILL take time with the volume of P9P orders and trade ins.
If BB baited you into their "store" with advertised "enhanced" trade in values and then decided to reneg days later, at least, file a FTC complaint
https://reportfraud.ftc
Pixel 9's not currently working with TracFone
The trade-in value will show as the BASE VALUE, but that does not include the promotion value. You will still get the promotion value assuming you were going to get it per your order receipt, so do not worry.

I pre-ordered P9 online with iPhone 12 trade in on 8/14. Today I went to pick up, when its time for trade in, the screen shows $145 instead of $799. I asked them, they claim that's the value I am getting. I then ask them to research, show them the email. They insist that I am getting $145. They said they needed to cancel my online order and re-purchase it in-store to get $799. I told them to do the in-store purchase before cancelling my online order to make sure I am getting the $799 trade-in value. Of cuz they cannot get me the $799 as it is no longer in their system. And they told me they have cancelled my original trade-in. I am so pissed. I then came home and contact the online support, They told me my order is still intact, trade-in is still valid. I guess I have to go back to the store again to pick up my phone. I should have come here to read others' story before picking up. Clueless rep in the store is really useless, even the manager is clueless how the trade-in promotion works. I hope they didn't really cancel my original trade-in, otherwise I will file complaint to BBB.

The phone feels as good or even slightly better than S23+. I also have a Pixel 7 which stuggles with scanning bar codes and signal issues. This Pixel 9 Pro XL is on a whole another level, getting full signal strength, way better barcode scanning camera and really good and fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, even better than S23+. Only gripe is the really thick camera bump; not a fan of the bump.
And with the $200 bestbuy gift card promo, I actually made a profilt of $66.17 on top of a free UNLOCKED new flagship phone.

For me a TRUE cost is: Traded in a metro by tmobile phone costing $192 for a pixel 9 and total was zero (hence it would have cost me $192) but then i have a $100 gift card so my true cost was $92 for a $799+tax phone

S23+ itself wasn't bad, and was actually a pretty good value to me, unlike ATT service which I was stuck with for 3 months, paying almost $210 total, now that was the pain point. Overall, really happy with the Pixel 9 deal. I was almost ready to get rid of the s23+ for anything more than $300. Thankfully this Pixel deal showed up.

My best buy apparently employees people willing to do the most basic and refuse to use common sense.
I placed my preorder with a 13 Pro Max trade in. At the time of the order, I could not select "T-Mobile 128GB". At the advice of many in this thread, I proceeded forward with what it defaulted to which was Verizon 1TB.
Upon pickup today, the employees are saying they cannot process because it "does not match" and are unwilling to move forward.
For those that have had success with my situation how did best buy proceed? They've verified my phone qualifies for the "$390" trade in value but that's all they want to give me sans the promotional credit. They are quick to suggest, canceling and just buying in store which I am reluctant to do
If you do order online the positive thing is that you have to bring trade in at the time of pick up so as long as you have original invoice printout with promised amounts if after checking out it doesn't get processed properly you can go back in and at least get your trade in back as well as cancel the whole thing for a refund. If you do trade in beforehand and pick up new device at later date the trade in device will be long gone without any way of getting it back.

I need to send this in since I couldn't process for in store pickup, so that's why I'm a bit skeptical.
