90% of morons on this thread will ruin the deal by asking dumb questions to Best Buy and possibly altering them to check trade in phone in details. Just keep your mouth shut when you go there to pick up the phone

Can you plz share more details? I don't intend to use metro anyhow
* Can you still log into your Metro account? (i,e, you haven't traded in the Metro phone that receives the security text to log into your Metro account).
* How much longer will your Metro account stay active? If just a week or so, you won't have enough time to order and activate the new devices.
* How many phones/tablets have you ordered from Metro and shipped to your home address? Two or less is usually fine. The closer to 4, the higher the chance that your additional orders won't go through.

Picked up my two Pixel 9 phones in-store yesterday and traded in two iPhone 12's. Afterward BB account showed $0 cost for each. Full charge + tax were posted to my Chase and USBank yesterday. Today they're showing refunds for the same amount.

I received a pickup email but when I went to store, i was unable to trade in, as the system was showing that the tradein value exceeds cost of the phone. I wonder how everyone is doing this. My trade in is iphone 12, for pixel 9 128gb.

Also bestbuy store was claiming that its a known issue and they are trying to address this.

What does your Order Details in your BB account show? The attachment below show the cost of my Pixel 9 is $799 and the total TIV of my iPhone12 is $799. They're equal amounts. If your order has some "extra" discount (I recall there was some kind of 5%-10% discount if this is a first order with your BB credit card) that might make the TIV of $799 exceed the discounted price of the Pixel 9. Just my guess.

A couple of people have reported the same thing. It looks like their issue was that they applied some kind of rewards offer to the order in addition to the promos. Since the after-promo price of the phone was zero, the extra credit balance made a negative total. You'd think it would just cancel the reward redemption, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I haven't seen a solution yet, although someone suggested trying to get the rep to mark your phone as "fair" instead of "good" condition to push it through. I don't know if it would work and you'd end up losing a little of the promo, but might be worth a shot if faced with losing the deal otherwise.

There was a post from someone who said he successfully placed 3 orders, each comes with one GC. When he placed the 4th one, it was cancelled. He posted that after he removed the GC for the 4th order (I don't know how that was done) then the order was accepted. That's why it was speculated that there's a limit of 3 GCs per account. We don't know if that's a fact.
I'm not sure how accurate this is becuase I placed 4 orders so far and no issues on any of them. I ordered one P9 and one P9P on 13th, then one more P9 on 15th, and one P9PXL today(23rd). None of my orders got cancelled. I picked up the 2 P9s yesterday(22nd) got their gift cards. picked up P9PXL today, got it's gift card. And my order for P9P is still active with shipping estimate showing Sep 6th. I'm sure this is YMMV. It could also be becuase my P9PXL order was without any trade-in!!? I do know that BB has trade-in limit of 3 devices per day per customer/house hold. This is not enforced in-store that much, it varies depending on managers but online I'm not sure.

Yeah, the limit of 3 GCs could be half-truth, or misinformation, or speculations. I don't know for sure.

Employee at the BB mobile kiosk screwed me. I ordered Pixel pro XL with the trade in of iPhone 13 pro max which supposed to give $390 gift card along with $709.00 promotional discount. When I picked up the phone from the mobile desk, employee entered the trade in phone as fair instead of good condition. This reduced the trade in value of my phone to $195 instead of $390. Employee never informed me about the status of the trade in phone. When I discovered this on the receipt, and went to the store, store flatly refused to do anything about the trade in.

Thank you very much. I will try this option tomorrow. You may be right considering I used $40 reward certificate.

Good luck. Also, I just realized another user mentioned that he had the same thing happen before also and was able to find another rep who credited the rewards back from the transaction or something. Here's his comment …

I'm still curious if model number has to be exact from Best Buy trade in or if color and storage is enough when doing a mail trade in.

Yup this is one thing that has me hesitant on it since the one I did was a MGLN3LL/A Apple - iPhone 12 Pro 5G 128GB - Graphite (T-Mobile)

Mine is also MGLN3LL/A... Apple - iPhone 12 Pro 5G 128GB - Graphite (AT&T) for the trade in selection

The iPhone 12 Pro 128gb I have is MGK13LL/A

That's a tough one. The in-store reps are generally pretty easy going, but some guy who has followed the mail-in threads said that it's outsourced and they can be pretty finicky. Best Buy's own database of those numbers is messed up in some instances (I think on some of the Pro models in particular), so I wouldn't think they should be so strict, but the comfort level for using them has seemed pretty low.

I believe that some people have been able to switch their orders to in-store pickup through the online portal, although I'm not sure how commonly available it would be.
