Almost pulled trigger and then noticed that it has no usb-c video input. Who the hell makes a >$1k monitor that can't act like a rudimentary dock

Got this monitor on the last Slickdeal, around this price without the monitor, and was able to use price c ashb ack to shave a little more off in cost...unsure if that's possible on the app.

I love this thing, and thankfully it has had no issues so far. It is insanely large and heavy...also note that it can emanate some heat as well, which works well in the winter, maybe not so much in the summer.

Ever since the 49" monsters were released, I always wanted one, and then finally bit a few months ago. Thank god this is still the big dog. If Samsung releases a 59" then its going to drive me crazy

I purchased this for $1500 about a week ago and it just showed up today. Awesome monitor.

My issue is I'm now regretting that I didn't buy Samsung Care+ for this. I'm dreading the thought of accidental damage. It seems there is no way to purchase the policy after receiving the monitor - I tried through the website but it says I'm not eligible. I'm going to try calling Samsung today to ask.

If I can't buy it then it looks like I need to return it, eat a 5% restocking fee, and reorder. Huge hassle...

Anyway if any of you are thinking about buying it, make sure you purchase the Samsung Care+ at the time of the initial order, otherwise it seems there may be no opportunity to buy it later.

EDIT: Online chat could not help me. I called the samsung care + phone number and they confirmed for monitors you need to purchase the plan at the time of initial order.

Also, FYI, I got a pop up on the mobile app for $50 off a purchase over $1000. Not sure if it was triggered due to my prior order. But I see that it does stack with the current discounts after adding another monitor to my cart and adding the promo code.

I paid this for just the 57" so I'd love the extra monitor and $100

This went for ~1034 like 3-4 months ago. Some got it even lower with cashback. Granted you needed EPP for it to work.

At this point I would wait for the refresh for prices to drop again.

Can you elaborate why you'd need Samsung Care+ for this stationary monitor? Just for peace of mind...? How would accidental damage occur?

Yeah just peace of mind. It's an expensive monitor. Could always be dropped, monitor arm fails, cats, etc.
