In my personal experience, nothing can touch the value for price of these $13 refurbished Tribit Fly buds 3, direct from the manufacturer. Solid sound quality, decent bass and highs, 100+ hours between charges, and very reliable.

I have a pair that's lasted 3+ years and counting, the first pair of Bluetooth earbuds that have lasted me this long. Prior to these I owned an $80 pair of Jabras that crapped out after 18 months or so, and the sound was inferior to these.

Bought more at this price for friends and family.

"Today we're going to talk about 'price anchoring', boys and girls. Can you say 'price anchoring'?"

They went for $1000 back on New Years 2020 and have dropped precipitously ever since.

If it fits your ear then it works decently - i have no luck with a number of foam sizes/ loose from one ear or another after 10min use. Must use its own bluetooth cable or aux cable because the mmcx on the drives are proprietary. Even both cables fits horrible not staying on ear long. adapter to standard mmcx available from third party amzn or ebay.

Other than those bad things Sounds slightly not different from shure se215 either old bt2 or new tw2.

Not recommended.

Shure TW2 aonic 215 or se215 are awesome even at msrp
the shure tw2 aonics don't fit my ears well. Can't get a proper fit to last more than a few minutes. I think my ears are too big and the top of my ears pulls the iems out because the se215s with the regular cables fit fine. Just a warning for those with larger ears so the don't get stuck with bad fitting headphones.

If fits ok it's better than chifi, but needs enough power to sound at 100%, something like 500mw on balanced connection.
ChiFi encompasses about a million IEM's at this point so I don't know how this generalization makes any sense.

Also 500mw lol what. These are 116dB SPL/V@1kHz and 18 ohm impedance, they'll run off just about anything. Plugging the numbers into a power calculator says these need ~14mw to run @ 110dB which would be dangerous listening levels for any extended period of time. If you add a bit of headroom you still aren't going to need anything more than 50mw to max these things out.

How do these compare to all the cheaper chi-fi IEMs?
They don't. These are EAR BUDS. IEM's are custom molded to your ear canal and have specific drivers. This is just a new marketing trend of selling low end ear buds to unsuspecting people looking for cheap IEMs.

The terms IEM and earbuds have been used interchangeably for many years. Even many years ago, IEM's were meant to have an accurate frequency response so musicians using them would get a true sense of what was being played, but they were not necessarily custom molded. Nobody on SD is confused about IEM's being custom molded, because there is a new IEM post almost every day. And exactly what "specific drivers" should they have?

I got mine directly from AKG for the same price about a week ago. I didn't want to pull the trigger at 159, so I waited and returned to the page, and they were discounted $30. I would say these are premium all the way. I believe AKG is owned by Harman, which is owned by Samsung. AKG has been around since at least the 50s. They sound great with light or moderate amplification. They were also steeply discounted on Harman. 5 years ago, these were certainly premium. I could see paying 300 to maybe 600 for these. Now, based on what's available today and considering recent audio innovations, I still think they are an absolute steal at this price. I just started listening, but I'd say they have a punchy and defined base, amazing treble, warm midrange, and a decent sound stage. The box also includes 2.5mm and 3.5mm cables, filters, Bluetooth, and a nice case. I'm not sure about getting them on eBay, but these are great headphones. There is so much in there, I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Do these sound good thru samsung phones or iphone music? I dont understand how you need extra amplified source for these to work good.
