I just can't imagine a situation where powered pruning shears are that much more advantageous to you know the old fashioned do it by hand thing. The reason is I can't imagine it taking a lot less time, and the amount of effort put into cutting through a branch with a good pair of shears, it doesn't seem like it's a whole lot.

and if the effort with large leverage ever was a whole lot, I can only imagine that the little battery powered Gizmo would fail there.

I'm 70 and my hands tire more easily. For 1-10 snips, manual shears are great. Powered shears are wonderful when doing a lot of branches.
.
I wonder if you have power steering and power brakes in your vehicle.

This is what I thought, but then I picked up the dewalt for a steal awhile back. Never going back to hand pruners again. I let my dad borrow them and he refused to give them back and bought me a new one. Everyone else who has used them has been impressed.

If you have a lot of trees, they are worth giving a shot. My trash service sucks so these are great to break down branches so that everything fits in the bin.

Damn y'all must be buff AF, this thing can chew through 1" branches. If you're hand pruning that with ease props to you. That's loppers for me. This is one handed. If you process things other than shrubs and twigs, electric sheers do make sense.

M12 5.0 Ah batteries alone are $120 each normally. I'm low on M12 batteries. This seems like a decent deal for the batteries alone and the tool is almost free.

You'd be surprised. I have the Ridgid version and it easily slices through 1"+ branches with a mere pull of the trigger. I'll never use big manual loppers again.

Just my 2cent, if you want to save some money, there are generic brand available on amazon that is: 1. Cheaper, with brushless motor, replaceable cutting blades 2.Some use milwaukee or dewalt/makita battery; 3.Better on paper specs(cut branch width 1.2inch to 1.6inch); 4. Some brands come with telescopic pole, you will understand and appreciate this when you really an amount of big, tall trees and ladder or climbing is not your favorite exercises.

I have 6 different brands throughout the last 3 years. Bought many more of different brands and kinds and give those out as gifts. Any people works with tree really appreciated the gifts and put in all the compliments how it saves their finger joints blah blah. For now i stick with a generic pruner using Dewalt battery that can cut 1.5"(up to 2") branch. When i want to work on high branches, then i reach out to my 25v Tovia telescopic pruner.

I am sure who sticks with manual pruner, loppers will have better physical built/fit 😄 anyway

I don't think you'll get any two people on the internet to agree which cordless tool brand is better.

But I think it's not controversial to say that Milwaukee is typically better than Ryobi and, as such, is priced at a premium.

You may get more push back from DeWalt fans, but in general Milwaukee is on par with, if not slightly better than, their yellow counterparts.

I guess for thicker branches?

But why not just an oscillating multitool that has a million other uses?

The guts inside these are the same as the Ryobi HP version and the Rigid version except those run on 18V. They are all excellent tools. I went with the Ryobi version since they are on clearance for $69 right now and that is the bulk of my power tools. I typically only keep automotive tools and a few other small items in the M12 line from Milwaukee.

The thing weights 4lbs with a battery, good luck having arthritis and trying to maneuver this.
Tell me you don't understand with arthritis is without telling me.

Weight has nothing to do with the use case.

I got this last year, and let me tell you, there's no way I'm ever going back to manual trimming! This thing is a game-changer and such a time-saver. I'm even thinking about grabbing one for my mom with this deal!
