FaceID uses infrared (IR) light and not UV, so I don't think that's how you can tell if it's fake.

As a side note, Smith's customer service is awesome. I lost the little rubber nose piece on a pair of pinpoints, and instead of sending a replacement part they sent me a brand new pair.

I decided to take a chance and bought these because of the glass lens and Smith Optics reputation of quality lenses.. Hoping that makes up for color of the frame and, I think, slightly large for me 63mm lensSmilie

Spot On. Search SD's and you will see that this vendor is not only heavily promoted by staff but has these supposed deals every few days, cycling between different brands. For a more recognized brand, call the manufacturer and they will tell you that neither are they seats of this vendor nor is this vendor a genuine retailer of their brand.
The glasses are under cheap and flimsy, check previous threads

They don't charge for returns if the glasses are unused. You have to pay for return shipping.

FWIW I've made multiple purchases from Eyedictive before (including a pair of Smiths from an April 2020 slickdeal), and all were fine. Glasses appeared brand new and were authentic. Would not hesitate to buy again and in fact am going to buy another pair right now that I don't need.
