I think this is a buy for someone who has already seen some of these and really digs them. I too have never seen, but as a disc collector and with a mild curiosity regarding the series premise, this deal finally got me curious enough to do some research. Rotten Tomatoes has all these movies within the mid 40s to mid 50s, certified rotten. That's hardly my bible; most entries of the Friday the 13th series are between 11 to mid 30s, and that series certainly has its fans. After reading reviews, sounds like the idea of these are better than the execution. They are dark, violent, and mediocre enough that watching a marathon seems unlikely unless it really checks your personal boxes. For $14 old me would get this anyway, why not, but shelf space is getting precious and I try to buy only what is worth rewatching.

I'm not a huge scary movie fan. Loved the first Strangers movie, the second one was so bad I stopped watching. I watched the first Purge earlier this year when Dish had a free Starz channel weekend and I loved it. With pretty much every "scary" movie they mostly try to scare the viewer with sudden very loud sounds following a quiet period, which is a different kind of scared than if someone is pointing a gun at your head. And the actors always make the dumbest decisions to put themselves at risk.
With the Purge movies it tries to bring fear from several attackers that come their way, so they need to survive, and enough of the main characters get hurt or killed so that you know that nobody is "safe".
Rotten Tomatoes could say score of 1/100 or 100/100 and I still wouldn't let it influence my decision on watching any movie. Google reviews % almost always works out for me, 80% or higher and I know it'll be a movie I really like. The majority of the Google reviewers leave either 1/5 or 5/5 stars so you'll either love it or hate it. It's not my genre usually but I found myself loving two of them.
I'm not into gory movies at all, but these are entertaining. Particularly enjoyed "The Forever Purge" which had good performances. It may have just been the vibe at the time it came out, but it felt almost like a plausible thing to happen. In for it at this price since these are the types of movies I'll put on when nothing else catches my eye.
Saw the first one in theatres - made it all the way through but it's definitely a lowbrow movie for the Jerry Springer crowd. At best it's a C movie - aim higher.

This is a nice price point for movies that, even if only watched once, are at least a rental price. If you end up liking it to see again, all the better.
I bought this last time it was $17, but there was a $5 discount I think attributed to Amazon matching Target's B2G1 deal at the time.
I agree with the comments in here that it's likely very polarizing and 1-star vs 5-star. Me, I'd put them at 3.5-4 stars, depending on each movie. Again, if you're OK with this type of movie, which I assume someone would be if they're reading this.
