These camera's battery will not charge once it's drained. Happened on two cameras already. Amazon doesn't even allow you to leave a comment. I would never buy them again

These are decent, Tuya OEM, you can install them and use them with the Tuya app and even integrate the streams into HA. However, if you want to use more than two cameras (up to 4) with a single base station you will have to use the laview app since it has the means for pairing via a QR code.

I have run mine fore a couple of years and dont let them run below 20% on the battery. They have 18650 lithium cells inside so not surprised that once the cells are fully discharged they will not charge up again.

Yes, don't buy because I need two. Best unit I have every owned.

They are so bad I ordered two.

Free returns, so check those cameras out with batteries the first 30 days.

I will need to rotate the cameras in and out of my present setup to test them. 4 max!

May just set up another main box. Has anyone run two main units?

Just talked to tech support and they said keep the base near the router or mesh child and you are good to go. You can run two main units. In theory 4 cameras per base unit!

$25 for each fully functional outdoor wireless camera with long battery life. Batteries have lasted 6 months ish in all cameras before needing a charge at 30%

All 8 cams up and running. As far as the SD card is concerned, it is all automatic behind the scenes.
When you view a video clip without cloud service, it pulls it off the card as far as I can tell. Pulled the card and all the clips were on the card.
There are no instructions on how to access the card other than view the videos. Evidently the unit auto formatted the 128GB card when I installed it. I did use EXFAT format before inserting the card. The eject functions works.
Seems I remember emailing myself a clip when I first tested this using one drive.

Ordered my 5th set! No issues so far.

1. Getting up on a ladder every 5-7 months to charge them is not optimum for folks with disabilities.

2. I recharge at 30% / all lithium batteries have issues with use to a dead state before recharge. I have started to not run my yard tools batteries dead before charge.

3. Rotate indoor and out door cameras

4. Run the LAN cable from each mesh node to the base unit. The base unit distance to each camera is the key! I have never used the WIFI function since it was not recommended.

5. Metal of all types interferes with transmission distance. Found out the decorative cross bars and window frames of my windows are a problem if you get too close with the base station.

4. These will not work through a modern gas filled windows unless there is sufficient lighting outside. My streetlamp works for one camera!

5. Height of base station is important for range

6. No fees of any kind

7. keep a short distance between the base station and your mesh nodes.

8. I set my recording activations to minimum needed for each camera/ most cameras are there for situational awareness except the back and front door areas.

I believe the setting you want is "IR Night Vision" rather than PIR. It's under the camera setting, not the main/base settings If you turn night vision off, it won't shine the IR light, which tends to blind the camera in a window. However, my experience with putting it behind a window wasn't great … even someone walking right up to the window didn't seem to trigger recording.

I mentioned a bit more about my experience with it behind a window in this old thread …

That's odd. Maybe it's different software versions or something. Here's a screenshot of what my settings look like from an iPad …

Oh man … they removed that setting? That sucks … being able to turn off the IR light seems like a pretty basic option that should be available.

I do not know how to fix this other than buy some more and place the indoor cameras away from any outside window.
10 running with 3 base units. 2 more coming today.
