I bought this last time around but so far only got 1 camera installed.
My 2 cents:
The camera is very wide angle so fisheye effect is quite significant.
Battery life is promising... 3 weeks outside and it's at 97%.

You can run this with USB connected, it'll switch between internal battery and external power automatically. I can't find a way to waterproof the USB plug (at the bottom) so I can hook it up to a solar panel Still searching.

The app is kinda annoying to find recorded video... Blink is a lot easier.

Many past deal threads on these. They miss a lot of events. Resolution isn't great. App has gotten better. Lot of lag. Forget about CS its awful. Max cams/base station is 4 so limited in size.

To get the price you need to use an account with Prime otherwise it adds $6.99 to the total.. I have 2 accounts there and tried on my business account first that does not use prime, then switched to my prime account and was the stated price...

Just a cheap system to be able to watch my 102 yr old mother in her home, old system had issue sending me content after Google changed some settings and could never get any of my DVRs to do what they had done for a decade, send me images and videos when activity.. even though they claim they can, I have yet to find a way to do so, so I use products with apps which can be buggy, but at least I can get through to cameras...

Unless you are plugging in don't use a battery powered camera as a cctv. Get a Tapo cam or another one that is made to plug in. I like Tapo no subscription required for AI.

what is issue using them via battery powered? my friend used a similar system from Arlo and could get months of use and then freedom to put anywhere and not have the cords..

you said "to watch your mother" - that means you are often viewing the feed. These type of cameras really arent designed for that. They are designed to be in areas where ppl passby a few/several times a day. Just grab something you can plug-in then you'll never have to worry about a battery.

I have one angled at my front door and it hasn't missed any people events. Detection time seems to be almost instant, which is surprising to me.

If I didn't already own this package I'd definitely buy at $43. I'm enjoying Laview more and more and am strongly considering them as my primary home security setup over my incumbents Eufy and Wyze.

can someone tell me if there's a way to enable/disable motion detection for all cameras at once? I can't find that option, it's the only thing that annoys me, otherwise this is really a good product and it's very inexpensive.
