Bought a 55 in QM7 today. Quick set up. All consoles calibrated. Picture and sound is great. For $497 you can't beat it.

In store the U7n and Qm7 are right next to each other. The Hisense has noticeably brighter whiter white lettering on black screen. Everything else moves so fast I can not discern differences.
A while back I posted a Costco deal for Hisense 75U75 (U7N) for $100 more ($1100) but includes 5 years warranty and $100 Google play Gift Card.

As per rtings:
The Hisense U7N is better than the TCL Q7/Q750G QLED. The Hisense has better SDR brightness and much better reflection handling, so it overcomes more glare in a bright room. The Hisense also has better HDR brightness, so highlights in HDR content stand out more on it. When it comes to colors in HDR content, the Hisense's wider color gamut and much better color volume delivers more vibrant, lifelike, and brighter colors. The Hisense also has better pre-calibration accuracy (although it's not great) and better PQ EOTF tracking, so it's the more accurate TV.
Also, let's not forget that 75" Hisense version is an IPS panel with better view from side/angle.

How does this compare to the Hisense U7N? They seem very similar, just bought the Hisense at Costco last week for $100 more but with the 5 year Costco warranty.
Don't forget to claim your $100 Google play GC.
See above what rtings has to say about these two sets.

Finally it came back down to this price, but still no reviews up online by any of the more credible sites/channels which is really puzzling.
I like Digital Trends for credible reviews. Caleb Denison knows his stuff!

Anyone know of a good group/forum that caters to this use specifically?

Would like to find a large "inexpensive" display like this that can auto power on/off with a computer wake/sleep signal.

Do TVs exist with this functionality?

Or possibly a device that interfaces with a TV to handle the state of the display?

picked this up last time it was on sale. Pretty satisfied with the picture quality. I also have a LG G3 OLED, and I would say this panel is brighter during the daytime especially with dolby vision content.

I watch mostly Netflix, YT and streamed the Olympics with it, and can't say the LG is really better aside from viewing angles.
How bad are the viewing angles on this one? I have a sectional couch, won't be awful angle but not ideal for every seat on the couch

Just plugged the 55 inch model in, ran a grayscale test and it looks great, no shadows or dead pixels. The audio is better than I expected for the price as well. Not sure I've seen a better tv in the $500 range. Time will tell how it holds up

It's not about being made in China, it is about strictly Chinese owned companies. LG and Samsung have Korean factories and Sony is a Japanese brand..

Anyone own this and want to comment on how reflective it is?
Trying to decide if I need to drop the extra $320 for the QM8 with the less reflective screen

My local BB has this one for $673. Is qm8 (2023) a step up?

QM8 is glossy while QM7 is semi glossy. QM8 has a reflection score of 9.0 and the QM7 has 7.3 (higher than the Q7's 7.1). Yes it has a lower score, but it seems to be due to the semi gloss treatment. It has the same reflection handling as the QM8 but light sources directly behind the tv have an aura instead of a defined dimmed shape. Both tvs have very high brightness so I doubt ppl will have issues, just try not to have sun blasting through a window behind you, light sources to the side are not a problem per RTINGS
