Bought a 55 in QM7 today. Quick set up. All consoles calibrated. Picture and sound is great. For $497 you can't beat it.

Seems to just be the regular price now as even W-mart has it for the same.

Great tip. A $100 off $1000 coupon populated in my cart while I thought about buying, bringing it below $600 (I guess it was going off the pre open-box discount price). Does anyone have experience with the Geek Squad extended warranty? Seems like 5 yrs might be worth the $129 asking price on an open box item
5 YEARS at Best Buy is showing $169 for me on the 65" QM7. Are you seeing less?

FWIW I picked up a 65QM851 a few weeks ago for $800. It replaces a 15 year old 63" Samsung plasma. I can say that after two weeks, I am dissatisfied. My 15y old plasma has a better picture. Hands down. Yes the TCL looks great with 4k HDR content, but for everything else, it's inferior to my ancient plasma TV. Sad.

Plasma TVs had their heyday, but were made obsolete by much cheaper LCD TVs (LCDs are much lower in weight, far more efficient and have lower shipping costs and breakage). Yes, I got a TCL -albeit their flagship - but even the best LCD TV today (Bravia 9?) is probably inferior overall to my 2008 Samsung Plasma. Guess I should have gone OLED.

Picked one up. I'll be honest, the brightness I was expecting just isn't there and yeah I made sure it was turned up to 100%.

Just some things to look at. Is the Energy Saver mode enabled? That lowers brightness. Also... if enabled, the Ambient Brightness/Content mode will limit brightness... as it will adjust the picture based on room lighting. Additionally... if the Clear LED Motion setting is enabled, the brightness is lowered, as the backlight is adjusted to lower blur.

Is it just me who finds it strange that Amazon doesn't mention the 65" is on sale for $697 but BestBuy shows $400 off on sale?

To use Roku on this TV do you need a Roku box or do they have an app?
It has Google TV instead of Roku. I've been using Rokus forever, and my other TCL is a Roku. That said, I haven't found a reason to use my Roku with the QM yet. Google TV has been sufficient so far.

One consideration is whether or not you have a home theatre receiver, and also whether that receiver supports eARC. If not, I would probably just use the Roku plugged into my receiver versus Google TV on the TCL using the toslink connection to my receiver. Toslink is clean - it just doesn't support all the new audio formats.

Look at your settings cause my qm7 is like the sun. It is so bright and colorful. Insane brightness.

During the night I have to turn it down.

This thread's current QM7 prices are probably pre-Labor Day / Labor Day sales. They will most likely go back up, but then back to this pricing for the holidays. Anyway... I've attached the Walmart links.

I got it about a month ago for $499 and as soon as I turned it on I knew this was an awesome deal, picture is bright and assertive., great sound, the stand is pedestal style, for gaming is wonderful with 144hz and vrr support. There is nothing not to like at this price.
I did the exact same thing, and feel the exact same way. This is seriously a gem. I love it for a bedroom tv because the speakers actually sound good, so no soundbar/AVR needed. I was shocked at how good the picture is. Not only is there nothing to not like at this price, there is very likely nothing else this good available at this price.

This TV isn't perfect... but brightness isn't a problem. I calibrated Windows 11 with the HDR tool and it said 1400 nits which is exactly what I'd expect looking at the rtings reviews. My computer monitor is rated for 1000 and that's exactly what the test says as well.

The extended warranty on this seems cheaper at Walmart than BestBuy. On the 65" it's 98$ at Wally vs 160$ at BB.
