key word: "essentially"

difference is 2 pixels per inch. No one can see that difference.

Can I use this on Verizon Post Paid from day one? Or will I need to wait the 60 days for that? Also, what is the cheapest number that I can sign up to that I can port to total? Will Tello $5 work? TIA

Just curious, but is this actually a slick deal? I'm not an iPhone deal expert, but I have seen plenty of deals on iPhone 11s and 12s for $0 to ~$160. Those aren't really comparable to this deal, of course, being older phones. I know there are less deals on iPhone 13 and newer, but when you consider that *fully unlocked* iPhone 14 Pluses are selling for $549 in Mint condition on Swappa right now, so why jump through the hoops or porting in a phone number to Total by Verizon to get a new one, which will be locked for 60 days, for roughly the same price?

I'm truly just curious, not dissing on OP or this deal, per se.

In my case, I'd rather jump through the hoops to get a new phone. A phone from Swappa could potentially be almost 2 years old. A brand new one is gonna last longer all around. Plus you get a warranty.

Select "Great price" option, and then verify the phone number that you will port, and continue the checkout process.

Are the excellent condition 14 + 549 or are those fair condition? Either way a brand new one is the safer bet.

Typing on my 14+ from there that was excellent for $600 purchased 10 months ago

Those $0 iPhone 12 deals generally require you to have a plan for $70/month for 12 months etc. Total by Verizon plans starts from $25/month for 15gb and after 2 months you can switch to whatever operator you want. Also there is 10% cash back which covers for the additional payment in the first month. So if you dont have a contract, you can switch to this now and switch back to a cheaper plan in 2 months. This may not be as good a deal as the deals in Android but new phone deals without committing to an operator for 24 months for iPhone are rare.

I assume they won't let you port in a Google Voice number?
Last time I did the deal with Total GV worked. If you just got your GV you might not get the code and might need to wait for few days

This seems like a decent deal for an Iphone (14s or 15s), but not an expert on this. Should we consider this deal as the starting point of 14/15s before 16 release in the next month? OR do you suggest to wait for a couple of weeks? Personally, I have an available port-in number that I can port for monthly-yearly deals to take the advantage of these.

I just looked at Swappa for the phone you mentioned, I see small scratches on that $549 mint iPhone 14 Plus, the next cheapest ones below $600 have battery lives around 80%. In other words excellent condition or mint condition are not new. This is phone that came out two years ago so even if cosmetically it looks mint, the phone might be used for two years which may impact battery etc. There is also value to using something brand new instead of used by someone else.

Now this phone cost $450-$45 cash back = $405. My current phone plan is $25 so I will also pay $25 additional. Total cost of this phone to me is $430 for a brand new iPhone 14 plus. Even if we compare it to the $600+ mint condition second hand phones, It is almost $200 or 30% lower. I don't know where else there is such a deal for iPhone right now. iPhones mostly have good deals if you will stay with the operator for at least 12 months. Unlocked or fast unlocking deals are rare.
