I need a 4tb for storage. Should I get this or a traditional hard drive that spins?
I bought two 6Tb ex server drives from eBay for $25-30 each and placed them in my desktop as my raid backup solution.

I tried Teamgroup a few months ago, drive lasted less than a month and would not read. Luckily I had an active backup on standard drive.
I wouldn't give up on them so quick, I put a 2tb QLC drive like this in my PS4 and it's been doing fine for nearly 10 months now. I don't expect it to quit anytime soon. Point is they sell tens of thousands of these a year and I'm sure the fail rate is pretty low or more people would be complaining.

Tempting. I've been looking for an affordable way to max out my PS4's internal storage.
yeah this is the best use case for these drives. I put a 2TB in mine and it works fine.

I would never consider this as a bulk storage on a PC when you can get allot more space (16 to 18TB) out of a refurb server drive at this price.

you can even get a New Seagate 14TB External for just a few more dollars than this if you just need storage space.

I've been wanting a large portable SSD to store some game installs and movies, nothing too crazy so I don't need high r/w speeds or huge tbw ratings just some cheap SSD-speed storage that isn't completely questionable in quality. Would it make sense to pick something like this up and throw in a cheap USB enclosure for portable use? Anyone aware of portable SSD options with similar price+specs as this?

Qlc is not the best right....pretty close to the $150/4tb strike point I was aiming for.
well, close, but not bottom of the barrel.

SATA III, way slower than NVME / PCIe
This drive has quite a low TBW rating (900TBW, which equates to 225 full disk writes)
and where you gonna plug in NVME id you dont have the slot? LMAOLMAOLMAOLMAO
