That said these are a great bang for the buck as far as water cooler go. Just make sure your case has the clearance for the cooler since they are a bit thicker than others.

Everyones build is different, which is why i specifically am not calling this a bad deal or a bad product, merely pointing out that there are many scenarios in which other products will work better.

Both designs will put stress on the socket in the form of force holding the two in contact with each other. That alone is going to be as impactful if not moreso, vs the physical weight of the cooler.
