That said these are a great bang for the buck as far as water cooler go. Just make sure your case has the clearance for the cooler since they are a bit thicker than others.

2 years warranty for these refurbs vs. 6 years for new is quite a large sacrifice. I'd feel more comfortable paying a bit more and buying new, especially on (any company's) AIOs. While Arctic has a great reputation along with their industry-leading warranty length and stellar customer policies (e.g. retroactive added warranty length increase and pro-active free seal kits to customers when some subcontractor used prematurely-failing pump seal material), AIOs in general are more failure-prone than most computer components. Certainly moreso than air HSFs. For some, Arctic's 6-year warranty is the only reason to risk moving to an AIO over an air HSF. Buying a refurb with only 2 years warranty negates that. My 2 cents.

These are good AIO coolers, but just a reminder, air coolers don't leak or fail and replacement fans in a decade are cheap.

Considering there are air coolers under 100 that actually outperform this, and some at less than 60 that are on par, it is hard to make the case for using a product like this unless you have some specific need to move heat via water (like youre doing an ITX build and your case is VERY small and you can vent the aio heat directly out the side)

There's not a better 240mm AIO cooler than this as far as quality and features, but you can get the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE for under $40 which I would get instead of this.

The Phantom Spirit is even better than the Peerless Assassin and about the same cost.

Unless you have distinct space needs, you can find air based coolers like the Peerless Assassin (highly recommend) or others, check review sites for plenty of options. They will have the same watt cooling capacity for the same or even lower noise level, meaning there really is no advantage to introducing liquid to the inside of your computer case.

Everyones build is different, which is why i specifically am not calling this a bad deal or a bad product, merely pointing out that there are many scenarios in which other products will work better.

My biggest motivation to go water is those high perf air coolers are so heavy and bulky that I'm worried about the stress on the motherboard and backplate.

Water coolers barely put any weight stress on the socket.

This is a valid concern for setups that are moved frequently, such as if you take them to LANs or have to move them to clean your office, etc. For setups that are stationary, these coolers are not going to put any unusual stress on the motherboard, there's no evidence of that even when going back many years. The dual radiator/dual fan cooler design is 10 years old at this point.

Both designs will put stress on the socket in the form of force holding the two in contact with each other. That alone is going to be as impactful if not moreso, vs the physical weight of the cooler.

Not a bad price for a 240mm AIO, but the Thermalright Aqua Elite 360 V3 in black is only 53 bucks, and I'm not disappointed for the value proposition. Adding the fact that it looks decent even from the back and it's a win.

Your concern is legit. My motherboard has to be replaced because of those heavy air coolers sitting on the cpu caused the pins to bent during transportation.

At this price I would probably still lean towards Artic for the likely better quality and likely quiter fans/pump. I would bet they perform similarly otherwise
