Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

What options can I do after receiving the phone and canceling the line? I want to put it in the $25 plan after month 1. What is the get around in this? Talk to customer service? I'm sure they would rather have some business than no business? So after line is cancelled after month 1, I can still put it in another plan right, or how does that work? Appreciate your help

Mine got delivered to wrong address and in the photo doesn't look like any houses in my neighborhood. Should I be calling metro or ups first?
UPS of course but if they delivered tot he right address (according to them) and when u see the address on UPS site and it's not yours then call Metro

No, don't pay for next month's service and make sure autopay is off
So I can buy this, not pay for the next month, then when would the phone unlock? And is that automatic or something I need to go in the store to do?

Metro has flagged me and I can't seem to order any phone from them. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

When I try to switch the phone to an android device, I get this message. Is this because my port-in is not complete? I also have an order pending.

"Your new device is not compatible on your current plan. To complete switching your device, change your plan."
I got this for transfer to another iPhone. Turns out you need to specify main IMEI, not IMEI of eSIM. A bit counterintuitive.

Received the phone today. I activated it online following the guidance here and everything seems to work. However, when I call the new phone, the call is received by Google voice. But when I use the new phone to call other phones, the call goes thru properly. This is very strange. How to make sure the new phone works 100% by being able to receive calls? Thanks.

Looks like google voice porting takes a while. I too have the same issue, called support and was told to wait as the port is still in progress.

I had the same issue, problem is google voice port takes time, I called the Metro port department and they completed the port manually, so now it is working normal, here is the # (800) 518-7519

Can you pay the $125 then cancel the plan and use the phone as a trade in to Apple when the 16 comes out?

Only if someone were foolish enough to bother getting it unlocked for $$$. Everyone else will use it for trade in or wait 365 days.
(also possible to pay the $50(?) penalty and switch to a cheaper Metro plan.. might be good for some people.)
I would like to use it for trade in but how do I get a number to port in? We are already with T-Mobile and I don't have an extra number to port in.

So I received my first 12 and then ordered another. It shipped out 2 days ago.
I am checking my ups account and there are two packages delivering today. One from metro and one from cooper general direct sales

1 of 2 and 2 of 2

Anyone else? I wonder what it might be

Edit: so the 2nd package is being delivered to safelink web orders in Missouri
Strange

Would T-Mobile accept this as a trade in for one of their promotions? I usually buy the cheapest phone available online to trade in and this seems like a pretty good deal. $125 for a new phone is better than risking buying a used one off Amazon that might have a cracked screen. For example right now they're offering $830 for a iPhone 12 trade in when upgrading to the 15.
