Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

My unopened iPhone 12s (plural) have been unlocked by metro. I activated them using the emailed link 182ish days ago, but never opened the box nor used the metro SIM cards. Not sure if port was successful or not since I never used them. sickw.com had them as locked to metro previously but switched over to unlocked today.

I guess Metro is similar to Tracfone, where usage doesn't matter and lock status is tracked in an Apple server. As long as the phone has an activation date in Metro's database, some script checks daily for activation date > 180 days and requests an unlock from the Apple server.

Note: This worked for me, and you are welcome to try this idea as well. But don't assume it is a guaranteed method for unopened and unlocked. It was a nail bitter for me for 182ish days.

I ported from Google voice about 10 days ago, everything works except when I call the number from another phone, Google voice still answers. I really have no use of the service, but I want to get it fixed. Do I need to call? Thanks.

did you already call them and talked to porting department? There is an actual button they can push to "complete the port"

I was able to use my parents address for shipping to add a 3rd iphone on my account. $88 total.

Used same credit card as before, had to answer 5 security questions first, but the order went through.

How long did you wait between the activation of the 2nd and ordering the 3rd?

Just FYI, while it was 180 days, it changed around May to 365 days. Any new activations after that have to wait for unlock a full year.

Yes, but how long will it last...? Please report back if (when?) it fails.

The TCL tablet, free. Anybody has experience with it? Possible to unlock with code or some other easy ways?
TotalCrapLegally... is it even worthwhile to bother unlocking is the better question.
That being said, it's probably fine for basic streaming and browsing, like most any value tablet.
