Use coupon "RRSAP10ANSREDDIT" for an extra 5% off. Found this on the Roborock subreddit.
Haven't had any issues with original roborock (mi robot 1) or the s7.
Yeah, spending $1000+ at these type of robot, getting broken down after 12 months, send in repair service for $100 shipping cost (yeah they DO NOT cover shipping)...after the warranty, the robot will be breaking down soon , the repair cost = repair cost at least $100-200/repair + $50-100 shipping cost

These robot are money pit blackhole!

I've owned 4 Roborock vacuums over the years and haven't had problems with any of them. Perhaps I'm lucky, but I've been very impressed with their quality and capability (hence the reason I keep giving them my money).

As far as the cost, I agree that it's expensive, but you can't just look at the straight up cost to determine it's value. You have to factor in your time saved and money saved in other areas. Let's assume you make $80/hour at your job, whatever it may be, which may equate to around $60 after taxes. So, every hour that you can save on cleaning and spend working instead is another $60 in your pocket. That would mean that if you spend an hour a week vacuuming, this robotic vacuum cleaner could pay for itself in about 20 weeks or 5 months. This doesn't factor in non-monetary factors such as extra time with kids or other family, which is invaluable in my opinion.

Alternatively, a lot of people hire cleaning/maid services in my area to come in and dust/mop/vacuum/wash windows, etc. A typical service once a week runs about $140-150. If you can direct them to spend more time on window cleaning, bathroom cleaning, dusting, etc. and not worry about vacuuming/mopping, it may be money well spent again. Each person is different, but to me the vacuum is worth the asking price, especially on sale like this.
If you're making $80/hr I doubt 1k matters much

I have this robot. It's horrible. Lidar and AI to detect stuff? come on... first week it was bumping into a low table. Runs over cat throwup, LOVES strings with a passion, I don't think it's ever successfully avoided anything to be honest. Max suction mode cannot pick up pet hair, leaves behind balls all the time, have to use the Dyson to actually get it. Lastly, the mopping feature is horrible, streaks everywhere. Honestly, the S6 is the better robot. This thing is pure garbage and probably the worst purchase I've made in the past 10 years hands down.

If you look at their amazon page, you'll see all the reviews reference the S7 not the S8 MaxV because it's garbage. Even at $1000 this thing is worth $300 MAX.

No you don't. Read the reviews buddy, they are NOT for the S8 MaxV Ultra... it literally tells you which item the review is for. They tricked you and you fell for it... Sellers simply swap the listing with the listing of a prior product. Common trick on amazon. Hence why they put which item the review is for... I thought you were a computer geek. Must be your first day on the internet. Can't even go through the reviews when I told you to do so. Clear as day, right on the official Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra product page. Funny enough, when you find the reviews for the s8 MaxV Ultra, they are 1 stars. Hahaha Do you really think they'd give you $700 off it was good? no... It's a new product that just hit and already massive sales? that should tell you something.

Wow, passive aggressive much? I filtered by most recent reviews and searched for S8 MaxV Ultra. Most of them are 5 stars. There's also many 5 star reviews on Roborock's website. Honestly, not sure where you are seeing the bad reviews.

Most are negative, right on Amazon. Reviews on their little Shopify website are clearly fake. I own the robot buddy, I have VIDEO proof, and a lot of it, performing horrible. How about you buy this junk and you'll find out REAL fast just how crappy it is. It doesn't even do 50% of what it advertises. Let that sink in. It's your money, and I warned you.

Edit. OF Course it got jammed. Of course.. happens EVERY SINGLE DAY. Good luck with your purchase. You'll be one happy camper.

Thanks, OP (and the person who put the 5% discount code back on page 2 or so!)

A few months ago, I was focused on this Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra... But then I started seeing reviews for the Dreame X40 Ultra...

I really like the spinning and removable mops on the Dreame...

But, I think this sale price is just too good to pass up...

With the recent negative comments in this thread, I will keep a close eye during the return period - hopefully will not be an issue.

All those complaining about price, give up your 3 Venti Starbucks drinks per week, and you have a great automated cleaning system to show for it. It is expensive, but time is money, and unless you have time to vacuum daily, or have a cleaning person once a week, this is great. I have one robotic vacuum on each level (basement, 1st and 2nd), but this by far will be the most advanced. I must admit, I didn't use the mopping feature much on the S6, but will give this more of a try. It's our first one with a dock that stores the dirt and water.

I went for the Auto fill and auto drain model ($100 more). With that I'll only need to monkey with it maybe once a month to put a clean pad on or fille with cleaner fluid.. I've been using S5 and S7 for years and have had no problems. S7 was best purchase ever until the S8 came out..

You know you have to have that specially hooked up, like a washer or dryer, so be prepared to pay someone to run water lines.

I'm putting in laundry room, already have lines and drain in there, yea may need to buy adapter to get it working but everything already there.
