Use coupon "RRSAP10ANSREDDIT" for an extra 5% off. Found this on the Roborock subreddit.
Haven't had any issues with original roborock (mi robot 1) or the s7.
Yeah, spending $1000+ at these type of robot, getting broken down after 12 months, send in repair service for $100 shipping cost (yeah they DO NOT cover shipping)...after the warranty, the robot will be breaking down soon , the repair cost = repair cost at least $100-200/repair + $50-100 shipping cost

These robot are money pit blackhole!

I am not saying you are wrong but want to describe my experience which could be YMMV. I purchased S7 via SD deal directly from the store on Nov 16, 2021. My robot vacuum has been cleaning my 3BR apartment every weekday morning since then. I have never changed any parts, while being recommended to do so. The brush below got a bit of wear and tear but still remains functional. It never broke. When we leave it and travel for two weeks I return to the machine not being stuck (10 cleaning sessions performed flawlessly). I bought it for $699 no sales tax.
These robots are extremely modular and easy for anyone to fix, I just fixed a "stuck" wheel on my 3+ year old S6 by taking it apart. Plenty of guides online to help out in doing so, and if it was the motor, or something more, I could have purchased the wheel housing with motor from ebay.

Bro… it's time to retire that Mi Robot. Are you still using the Singapore server 😅.

Most are negative, right on Amazon. Reviews on their little Shopify website are clearly fake. I own the robot buddy, I have VIDEO proof, and a lot of it, performing horrible. How about you buy this junk and you'll find out REAL fast just how crappy it is. It doesn't even do 50% of what it advertises. Let that sink in. It's your money, and I warned you.

Edit. OF Course it got jammed. Of course.. happens EVERY SINGLE DAY. Good luck with your purchase. You'll be one happy camper.
It's a 30 day return policy. They will be ok if they don't like it.

I like Roborock products. I hope they keep improving since their competitors like Dreame are.

Have a good day.

I have this robot. It's horrible. Lidar and AI to detect stuff? come on... first week it was bumping into a low table. Runs over cat throwup, LOVES strings with a passion, I don't think it's ever successfully avoided anything to be honest. Max suction mode cannot pick up pet hair, leaves behind balls all the time, have to use the Dyson to actually get it. Lastly, the mopping feature is horrible, streaks everywhere. Honestly, the S6 is the better robot. This thing is pure garbage and probably the worst purchase I've made in the past 10 years hands down.

If you look at their amazon page, you'll see all the reviews reference the S7 not the S8 MaxV because it's garbage. Even at $1000 this thing is worth $300 MAX.
It's certainly not perfect, but the S8 MaxV was/is an incredible purchase. My floors are spotless, it doesn't miss anything in my case, including cat hair from 2 cats.

Regarding the streaks, the problem is most likely your water. My town water is incredibly hard and anytime I manually washed the floor it would streak, I switched to RO water and the streaks are gone. If you don't have RO, you will need to buy distilled water

Regarding not recognizing wires, that has been a failure and disappointing

Not my water. Wink I have a whole house soft water system and filtration. Issue is the robot. Same water with a regular mop = no streaks. I have 5 fluffy cats. The vac can't handle that.

Throw a string on the floor and watch it jam. The thing is horrible with obstacle avoidance.

Sorry I was referring to new buyers. I am sorry yours is giving you so much trouble though. That's a huge purchase to be unhappy with.

This one or the Costco MaxV when it goes on sale again? I kinda like the idea of the spinning pads more, but that might just be in my head that they clean better?

Per some reviews, the Dreame x40 beats this at mopping. But just a little.

Agreed - we got the Medical Provider discount via id.me - I was holding out for the Dreame x40 Ultra, but this price is just too good (Lowest Dreame price has been about $1,600 - For $990, it's worth going with the Roborock)

I bought my S5 in 2019 and has completed over 1000 cleanings over 1300 hours of run time. I just now replaced the battery. I think I'm going to buy their flagship model to take advantage of the mopping.

Back in the days of the S4 'mopping' was a different story. It was basically just dragging around a wet pad. lol
