Only 300 knits brightness and intel 13th gen flawed cpu. I'd pass these are known for throttle performance issues because of the slim design

It's such a lackluster package:

300-nit is entry level for most
FHD+ is a shame at this price point and screen size
CPU has a really weak iGPU and being Intel it devours battery
DDR4 in 2024
1-zone backlight on a "$1600" laptop

I have a HP Envy with a 13th gen Intel cpu. Nothing but problems. Constant thermal throttling, Stay as far away from these CPU's as possible. I don't think I'll ever buy another intel product after this. Just terrible.

I would wait for the 2024 OLED model to go on sale for $1400 again ...

Also comes with 1TB storage (versus 512GB here).

Aside from OLED panel also QHD+ screen vs FHD+ here.

I have a 2 year old M16 with the same screen, it's perfectly good, since I use it most of the time with a monitor.
DDR4 is better for battery life
You're right that AMD CPU would be much better.
I wouldn't want to be friends with people who care about backlight zones in a laptop. I set my M16 to white and never change it.

I'm not really sure the opinion of someone who uses an external monitor with their laptop "most of the time" has much weight in regards to the quality of the built-in screen.

DDR5 uses less power than DDR4..

Your shallowness aside; it's a "gaming" laptop, and it's sibling, the G14, features multiple backlighting zones, so clearly it's a selling feature they think Zephyrus buyers want.

Vote down facts folks. Enjoy your overpriced POS.

Terrible deal. The 2024 model with the higher res OLED, 1TB HD, and better processor has been as low as $1400. There are much much better computers you can get for $1200 as well and that's ignoring the extra $100+ you need to spend on a new SSD cause this thing is utterly useless until you upgrade from 512GB.

Also, the 5070 mobile should be out this January, from a 2 year cycle. Might be worth the wait 😬

I think they're confusing Asus with Acer. Which you should also not buy a warranty for, since you should never buy anything from them to begin with

Or buy it with a nice American express card to double warranty claim and not have to spend more money. It's always dumb to pay for warranty

For those who would want a little longer of a warranty and like the idea of a 4070 paired with a fhd+ this Costco machine for 200 more might call your name (14th gen i9, WiFi 7 , double the ssd size, double the memory, double the warranty)
