I'd love to upgrade just for the 2.5ghz lan ports so my NAS can run a bit faster, but gonna have to pass on this one. Also I don't like the idea of them putting some features behind subscription paywalls.
I have this router and had experienced dropped signals/invisible 6ghz network issues and went through TP-Link support to try and fix the issues. Had all sorts or things we tried, including multiple beta firmwares. The solution (interestingly) was to enable MLO. Completely fixed the random signal degradation/invisible network issue. Sadly it took them sending me another router to figure out it wasn't hardware. I think TP-Link still has some bugs to work out of their Wifi-7 line of routers.

UPDATE: As flagged below, the Amazon version is the variant with all 2.5gb ports while the Walmart version has three gigabit ports. According to this review, the variants are otherwise identical, but Amazon one probably a better value (if you qualify for 15% off) if you want/need all 2.5gb ports: https://dongknows.com/tp-link-arc...er-review/
Banana rpi4 and wifi7 modules are finally available but official firmwares are not yet released... but this could mean netgear/asus and other oems will have mediatek based devices releasing in the near future.
This is a good deal but we've seen the 200 price point before. You'll also likely not see 3rd party firmwares for this device.

Overall, these types of routers with all the antennas inside a box never seem to perform as well as the ones with the external antennas. Also, it seems like the designers sacrifice form over function by making these types of routers too compact and with not enough ventilation just to make them look more futuristic. The result is throttled performance that does not match the specs.

Have had an AX1100 for over 2 years at a mental and it's worked great, rock stable, & great sppeds.
