Rice farms cannot guarantee 100% that their crops are free of weevils and their eggs. When buying any brand of rice from any retailer, you need to freeze the rice for a few days before storing it. This will kill the eggs to prevent them from hatching.
This is fear mongering so I'm going to report this post with a thumbs down (and hope other do the same in order to enrich this community). While brown rice it does have a bit more heavy metals than regular white rice, the amount is negligible. It's like saying Tuna has Mercury in it or Chocolate has heavy metals in it. It's true but the amount is very negligible. Also, the reason you used for why brown rice is brown is false as well. Brown rice is brown because the brand part of the rice grain (which contains many of the B vitamins, minerals, and fiber by the way) is intact and not polished away to make it white.

Brown rice has arsenic. That's why it's brown.

Based on Amazon's packaging of S&S items in the past, I am pretty sure these would end up being loose rice in the box.

Weevils are perfectly safe to eat. But when faced with a choice one must always choose the lesser of two weevils

I am not going to put my trust into food by Amazon. They are not known for quality of their products.

You can find them cheaper at most grocery or ethnic stores. The cheapest is probably dollar tree at $1.25 for 2 pounds, if you trust them of course...

I wouldn't buy non-organic.
The organic brown rice at whole foods is similarly priced (although might be for 3lbs not 5). Not the basmati brown rice but the regular one. The organic basmati brown rice is more expensive.

Their price at my local store is $4.49 for 32 oz. or $5.99 for 80 oz. which is nowhere near "similarly priced." Amazon deal is $0.056/oz. while Whole Foods price is $0.075 or $0.14/oz depending on which size package you buy. That's at least 34% higher in price.
