To hook up this up correctly, do I need one set of speaker wires? Or two (to get the front speakers and height speakers both working)?

I have these and my height speakers aren't going but the front speakers are. There's a separate height speaker input (using Onkyo TXRZ50) so I'm a bit confused as a guy who is new to audio.

Thanks in advance!

You need two set of speaker wires for each speaker. One goes to front left/right and other goes to height.

Heights are a separate channel, just like fronts, center, and surrounds. So if you want to use the heights, you need to connect them separately. Every speaker output should be labeled on the back of your receiver. The only tricky one is the rear surround/rear height 2, because it depends on your setup. You use it for the rear surrounds if you're doing a 7.1.2 setup, or for rear heights if you're doing a 5.1.4 setup, or don't use it at all if you're doing a 5.1.2 setup. (You can also do a 7.1.4 setup with outboard amps, but that's probably beyond beginner level. Also the .1 in any of these setups could be a .2 if you add an additional sub.)

Another thing to consider is that not all sources are mixed for Atmos. So if you're listening to stereo music, or a movie that's only encoded in 5.1, there won't be anything for your height channels to play, even when they are correctly connected.

This is one amazing deal. I have too many Klipsch speakers already or I would buy these ones. I have the oldest version RP-280FA. The built in atmos speakers are the best. The woofer is a 6.5" with a good tweeter, so it puts out a lot of sound compared to other atmos speakers. The Klipsch are some of the easiest speakers to power also. I have learned my lesson buying 4 ohm speakers. I have Martin Logans center and 2 tower and my stereo overheats when I play it loud for not a long time. The speakers state it's compatible with 4, 6, and 8 ohms speakers, which they are, but they don't tell you it's only for a short amount of time and then the receiver shuts off going into protection mode

this is so odd. I bought these last week. Bought the 504 C II (or whatever it is) off Crutchfield last week also. Over the weekend I was thinking that I wanted matching front and rears, so I searched for these speakers yesterday morning on Adorama. I found them but they were definitely NOT this price. I tried various other search terms so I ended up having to come here, search for KLIPSCH, found this thread, and had to follow the link through the thread. I ordered another set yesterday morning.

Klipsch has some of the weirdest pricing... On Crutchfield for example, they had (not sure if they still do) the center channel that I bought. I paid $369 but they had the EXACT same item (same manufacturer part/model number) at a different spot on their website for about $600 more. Same with other Klipsch speakers.

Now I just have to figure out how to hook these up to my Pioneer VSX-LX305. I think it will do 5.1.4. Was looking at some pictures of the backs of these speakers and I will admit I am a bit lost. lol So many binding posts.
