Great product but terrible retailer. This was shipped/returned 4 times and at the end I just gave up and cancelled the order.
Reason: This is a very heavy device (47.2 lbs). Manufacturer Packaging is not that good. Retailer just put a shipping label and send it to the house. Every time packaging and the product was damaged. I requested to ship inside an additional layer. Customer care noted my request but no one care.

Reaching out to the customer care and explaining the issue repeatedly is painful.
After cancelling the order - I was expecting product amount to be returned in the originally form of the payment but got an store credit. I had to call few times to resolve it.

On a side note - it was sold at $1600 in July.

I would recommend this product but not the retailer.

I would not be buying something like this from Newegg. Their return policy and customer service is the worst. They are not what they used to be and that is an understatement.

Damn, just picked up an AVR-1800H for $504 a few weeks ago for bonus room, but was waiting for a sub $1K deal on the 3800 so in for one of those for main room. Solid deal at $979.30

yamaha was non returnable with a 2 years manufacture warranty

It isn't an authorized dealer according to their site. Generally companies don't actually enforce that because it looks bad for their brand, but I've never dealt with Denon support before. Newegg is a major online retailer, so I would think they'd have lots of problems if they didn't acknowledge warranties from purchases there.
