Milanese is nice but if you got arm hair stay away

The stainless steel variants have a sapphire crystal screen, instead of the crappier glass on the aluminum models. Sapphire is much more resistant to scratching. In 3 years with the S4 stainless and 2 years with the S8 stainless I've never managed to scratch either one. Smacked against walls, door handles, all kinds of sh*t. Case scratched up? Easy --> polish it. If you care about screen scratches (and they drive you nuts), the stainless is suuuuuuuper worth it for the sapphire screen.

I honestly haven't had many issues at all with the Milanese band that came with my stainless Apple Watch. I have really hairy arms but it's rare for them to catch on the edge of the band. This only applies to the ones made by Apple. If you get a third party no-name Milanese band from eBay or wherever, those will rip your hair out guaranteed.

$199 for the gold 41mm is a crazy price with cellular. I have an older 6 and 7, generally give to relatives. Rumor is that new iPhone comes out in about 10 days, might also come with new watches or at least new WatchOS. Probably a reason these are being cleared-out but a great price and the Series 8 should be good for a bunch of years still. And with Cellular (some plans allow you to add for $5-$10) even better. I haven't tried but I think you also get free access to call 911 even if you don't pay for monthly plan (always works if you are near your phone but with cellular you can do stuff like go on a hike with just your watch, and call to say I've fallen and I can't get up!)

It's like buying stocks. or a house. Do you want what you can buy now at what seems like an OK price, or wait for better? Buyers have faced that same choice for 1000's of year and don't think anybody has the perfect answer. The $199 was too tempting to resist.

Yeah, see above. You got to enjoy a new (at the time) product you were proud to wear (hopefully) and may have even saved your life if it gave you an AFib warning or the "fallen and I can't get up" alerts. Can't always wait for the future deals. Also the stress of worrying about lost deals or "should have paid less" regret is much more dangerous to your health than spending a bit of money like this. (just was in a hospital for 2 days with ulcer in my stomach caused by stress and probably other bad habits.) The $30K bill clearly makes this a better deal. (luckily still had employer COBRA coverage which I pay for)

Will be happily returning the previous Walmart deal for the aluminum one at $230.

So if I understand this correctly, these should ALL have the 02 sensor disabled since they were sold after a certain date, correct? As I understand it, this applies to all Apple Watches after a certain date. Anyone care to comment if they have bought one recently from a third party like Walmart instead of Apple?

This could potentially be a dealbreaker for some. It might be worth grabbing one at this price, and hopefully at the Apple conference on the 9-9-24 they may announce one of two things. Either they have created their own 02 sensor to get around the ban, or they will be re-nabling this feature for all the watches sold after a certain date. Ideas?

This is a steal lol. I paid $430 for the Series 7 Milanese 2.5 years ago and thought that was the greatest deal ever. It was 16 months past release at that point.

2 year old series 8 isn't much different; But they're basically giving them away at this price!

Do you know the return policy on an opened apple watch? Also purchased one from a previous deal.
