This is a brand new redesign including the amp, been out for about a year and half an no complaints of burnt amps, they have also torture tested these subs to make sure they dont have a failure like in the SPL/R subs and now come with 5 year warranty. That said I get it, you got burned by the company and you dont feel like trusting them anymore.

Interesting, if someone has opposing opinions, you get triggered 🤣
Good thing independent testing data does not lie and that SB3000 is WEAK for movies... compared to other options discussed here, especially for the money... 😭

I've personally built more than 10 subwoofers ranging from dual sealed 18" Daytons, ported stereo integrity 18" subwoofers, Bill flitzmauice Tuba HTs, and everything in-between. Not to mention the countless high dollar retail subs including SVS,Monolith,Martin Logan, Paradigm,Velodyne,B&W,JBL Synthesisand other ID subs... but sure I have no personal experience..

Those 3000s are cute, probably why you need so many to compensate for the lack of low end🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lol clearly you have no experience with the SB3000 other than reading! As I mentioned I compared the 12S and no pulverizing, I preferred the Sb3000 a plus was its the size of the 10e!I have experience with the VTF-3(15" mind you) and definitely no wiping the floor! The SB 30000 easily holds its own against it imo.The small footprint isn't just a WAF factor, much more versatility with good placement imo.Nothing can substitute that imo.You can still get the SB3000 for $899 and $799 just ended.
I might be willing to believe the SB3000 could keep up vs the 12S, but vs the VTF-3? No way in hell. Unless you're in a tiny enclosed room, sit real close to the sub, listen only to music not action movies, and listen at very sedate volumes, or some combination of all 4.

lol I'm not trying to change what you believe.

I disagree with this insinuation that sealed subs only work:
"Unless you're in a tiny enclosed room, sit real close to the sub, listen only to music not action movies, and listen at very sedate volumes, or some combination of all 4."!
I'm willing to bet if you listened to my dedicated HT room you wouldn't say the VTF-3 "wiped the floor" of them.
No it's not a tiny room, sitting on the subs, sedate volume and listening to music!
It would probably be the usual reaction when people do saying I always thought sealed subs are not good for HT purposes! 🙄

We will just have to agree to disagree about sealed subs.

I have a new setup with one of these arriving on Friday to complete it. How important is it that you have TWO? My room is about 18x22. It's totally connected to the Klipsch RP II set.

Thoughts on if this is worth the extra $700?

There are a lot of IFs in that question.

Generally speaking it can be challenge for one sub to perform optimally for all your seating positions.
A 2nd sub can improve that significantly.

This offers its own challenges also.
One is optimal placement especially with a big footprint.
Another is the harmonizing/integration of the two and then into the rest of the speakers/system.

To add to this a single sub is almost always going to result in nulls in frequency as well. Having two subs will help fill those gaps and will typically result in a more consistent sound across all capable lower frequencies. In addition you will tend to get a decibel boost on lower end frequencies as well as they carry each other.

I thought the difference would be negligible before I added a second sub on my main floor setup. Even though the pair up there were moderately small the difference was night and day.

I have an SVS PB2000 and looking to step up in sound pressure level. Specs say this digs lower. Thoughts on difference in Db levels?

Unfortunately the SB3000 is the worst performing subwoofer if movies is your concern. This sub would be perfect for a music only system as it peaks at 63hz then drops like a dog after that. Even the RSL 10 MKIIs kicks it's butt @20hz. The VTF-3 will slap the 3000 around all day... including this RP-1400SW.

There is no CEA-2010 data on 1400sw yet bit it should be 2dbs under the 1600sw. The 1600SW on sale is ridiculous value as well compared to the SVS PB16-ULTRA (similar frequency response)

Anyways, there is no amounts of floor placement that will bring out 10dbs @20hz out of a SB3000.

lol if I only had a dime for EVERY time someone with no personal experience said that! 🫢

Reminds me of my stupid "audiophile" relative with the same belief response.
NO F**kIN WAY, THATS BS! Those are props, where are they!
Then he goes and picks it up and puts his hands on the woofer! 🤣

To this day he still asked me how you do it! 🤣

LOL talk about triggered.... you gave us your pedigree to claim you have "personal experience" with the SB3000!
Man if I only had a dime for every time a person made that claim! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I would suggest trying the red pill one of these days, listening by reading is an illusion!
There is a reason why people read those "facts" and still come in here and ask for comparisons!! Facepalm
Mehhh, I've owned tons of sealed subs. Many that outperform the SB3000 including my builds. ALL of them perform the same interms of frequency range... it's called physics.

But sure, keep thinking you have something special 😉

I would wager the opposite, if people knew upfront how these perfom based on CEA2010 standards, not many people would ask for your biased comparisons....

Sadly, most people have no idea what CEA2010 standards are, or that they even exist.
"Pride of ownership" fanboyism easily overrides any hope of learning about objective, measurable performance.
