I've had the OP12 since February and it has been great. However there has been a noticeable lag when switching between some apps, giving a solid 2 second pause before being able to interact/scroll. This was introduced in a software update earlier this year and still hasn't been fixed even though there have been 2 or 3 software updates since the bug was introduced.

OnePlus 13 is rumored to be announced in November. Unless you need this right now, I'd just wait for that announcement as prices will go down more after the announcement. Also, with the iPhone 16 and Samsung 25 series announcements coming up in Sept and Jan respectively, this may not be the best time to buy a new phone unless you are getting an amazing deal.

You may want to change the title, doesnt show model and can be confused with Oneplus 16 wich doesnt exist

One Plus phones are lightning fast with all that memory. I just wished they would stop using Google to power everything.

Again, it's a busted iPhone 6. Why keep it around instead of disposing it properly and getting $100 in exchange?
You can do what you want with whatever phone. All I'm saying is you don't need to actually trade in a phone

Do not buy it guys. Software is too bad. Don't waste your time with this brand. I have one now I bought it cuz of the reviews. They made all the fake reviews.

I like OnePlus more than the Pixel's stock android, but if the OP13 doesn't have 7 years of sec updates, what's the point of buying a flagship?

Samsung phones also have much better trade in values, so you will end up saving much more than $50 whenever you do end up upgrading.
They do 10% cashback all the time as well just cang say the company bc of slickdeals competition with them.

Quality of these phones have gone straight down to shit no matter how good the specs look. Buyer beware.

Fresh off the Metro iPhone 12 trade in for Pixel 9 and the Samsung A9+ 5G from Metro deal...

Gotta wonder: both those models are available for trade in under the "other" category with considerable trade in values

Any caveats to be aware of trading in locked Metro devices?

Have a A9+ now gathering dust, and considering picking up another IPhone 12 (for future trade in, such as the Spectrum deal sure to come soon...)

EDIT: Samsung A35 for basically just 50 bucks via Metro would be another great contender for future trade in. Even better one actually

But looking over all of the available Oneplus line, only the 12 fully loaded stands out as a possible good value

800 - up to 191 for locked OTHER A35 - 10 percent student discount + taxes = about 600

Get a free Buds Pro 3 worth 180. Maybe 100 if reselling

500 for this top of the line phone is worth, for sure 👀

Though still need DPs on if locked Metro phone can be traded in

I agree, I received mine a little over a week ago and it is going right back. The number of software gremlins I've had to deal with is just unacceptable. I do tech stuff for work, and so the last thing I want to do in my spare time is fight with a buggy phone. I went for the S24+ deal instead and it is currently on its way.

Thanks for the review. I've been trying to decide between the 12 or 12R. Would it be nice to get the free ear buds? Yes. Do I really need them? Not really, as I only use ear buds for phone calls and hardly ever listen to music, podcasts, or play games. I have an old Windows phone I can send in for another $100 off. The 12 would cost about $300 more. Is it worth that much more? As you said, probably not. My last 3 OP phones have been the top models but with the new 12R it doesn't look like I need to go that route and save that money. worship
I promise you, the 12R is a flagship phone. You will never miss the wireless charging or telephoto zoom. She loves her phone. She still can't believe it charges to 100% in around 15 minutes or something stupid like that. She is on her phone like it's a part of her body and, she tells me that after 1.5 days, she's at around 17 - 20%. I'm a huge Oneplus fan. Just retired a Oneplus 8T and had the original Oneplus One back in the day. I will of course own the 13 or 14 here in the near future.

Had 6T and then 7 Pro Maclaren and I loved em. Moved to Pixel 6a and now Pixel 9 and love them too

Build quality, general software build out and smoothness, all comparable IMO. Most of all, simplicity and price (arguably Pixel 9 not great on price anymore 😒)

That curved screen is one reason I'm waiting for 13/13R instead of current 12/12R. I doubt anything else will be much of an upgrade between the two.
Same here. This has been this price for a few weeks, I check almost daily. It came with the Buds Pro 2 and a backpack until they went out of stock.
My OP9 will easily hold me off until the 13 is out.
