Man another great find, I knew as soon as I ponied up for a new desktop that I'd finally start seeing some come on sale. This one is better by a wide margin than the one I bought, also more expensive but I definitely would have spent the extra money to get this one. Well done OP!

Anyone worries about the well-known issues in Intel 14th CPU? Intel Core i7-14700F is included, I guess
I'm very confused by the issue being brought up regularly here. Intel powers most of business computers around the world. I haven't heard a major backlash by the big businesses which generally demands a much higher level of reliability than home users - every breakdown costs businesses hundreds of dollars and possibly many thousands $.

Is it really that big of an issue? Why is everyone here so concerned?

Worth saving 500 and going with this or get the 4080 super version for 2k? I have a 1440p monitor.

I wouldn't personally. This is more than enough power for 1440p. I'd probably go for the 4080 if your resolution is 1440p Ultrawide (3440x1440) and above.

Businesses that I have worked in, whether they had small or large counts of employees, had a 5 year sevice deal with Dell. New equipment is bought every 5 years and it is expensive, but so is down time of a server or let alone a single terminal. Dell would send a tech out same day or next day to repair/replace components or the entire system. Other than how to use the programs needed for work, most of the employees, managers, owners of those businesses knew very little about computers.

The other deal was for $1275 with 16GB ram
Which is better?

Is the 4070ti that much better than the super? Thinking of canceling that and doing this one!!
I think so, for roughly $200 more for the extra ram and the Ti Super bump is worth it. For the 4070 Super VS 4070ti Super, depending on the games, you could see a gain of 5% - 15%+, but the big thing is the extra 4GB of VRAM in the ti Super.

You can check benchmarks for various setups. I think it would be worth it.

You should really just Google it. It's not that hard. There IS a a backlash among businesses. Not all of them are aware of or will encounter the issues. It takes time for some of the chips to start malfunctioning. There is no fix. Only a "patch" to reduce voltages and hopefully reduce the occurrence. There are game server companies switching their entire server farms to AMD because the Intel machines are throwing so many errors. I've been watching this YouTube channel called digital foundry that analyzes game graphics. They cut up game recordings and edit them in adobe premier. Nothing too fancy. Just 4k video editing. Many creators on YouTube do that. They had a 13th gen Intel machine that would crash during encodes. It's not overclocked or anything. Had to apply the bios "patch" to reduce performance and prevent it from constantly crashing. It didn't happen initially. Took months for the chip to degrade.
Just because others aren't experiencing it doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. People are also ignorant of the issue so they may not think it's the CPU causing the crashes. It's also not because of overzealous gamer excessively high power settings. That's a false accusation Intel fanboys like to level. Even low power mobile laptop chips are susceptible, as stated by Intel. The chip, as far as educated guesses go, is deteriorating over time. Intel refuses to issue a recall. They themselves don't know what the problem is, or claims they don't know, and it's been over six months. That's why no decent reviewer is recommending Intel chips from the 13th/14th gen, and probably even future Intel chips, until the problem is fully sorted out, because right now they literally don't even know what the problem is, and can't guarantee it won't be carried over to the next generation.

gah you are good
the video card wasn't as important to me since i usually will upgrade every 3-4 years (so to 6th gen when 7000 series comes out)

but the +16gb ram saves me headache from upgrading myself

thx Adeezl

That's not the point I was trying to make. He asked specifically about 1440P and I was responding to this card's viability at that resolution.

Yes, ram is pretty cheap these days. You can get a pretty good 32GB (16x2) 5600 set for around $100. We will see what they use in these Alienware systems.

Something to note is that the 4070ti Super is still like $800ish while the 4070 Super is around $600ish.. so that's something as well.

*I find it interesting that they do give you the intel days Assassin's Creed Shadows game for the CPU, but not Star Wars Outlaws for the Nvidia GPU for a 40x series card purchase in these Alienware pre-built desktops. I've seen 3rd party builders include both. Not a big deal, I just noticed that.

why choose this, over XPS Desktop 8960: i7-14700, RTX 4060 Ti, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD $1062.49
https://slickdeals.net/f/17729073-xps-desktop-8960-i7-14700-rtx-4060-ti-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-1062-49?src=category_page
are there more limits to upgrade ability with the xps?
