Once you've had a 3lb gaming laptop, you will never want something like this again.
3lb gaming laptop. Wow.
Just for cooling down that 7945HX and 4080, you need one or two pounds on colling systems.
For a 7840u maybe you can make it almost 3lb but the performance is quite trash. I.e. the lg gram. Cb23 12k vs the normal 7840u at about 15k.
3lb for a gaming laptop is ridiculous.

I doubt any laptop that weighs 3lb is capable of any real gaming. Benchmark that sucker and stress test it and watch the thermals bottleneck everything. A real faming laptop requires 3lb of piping and heatsinks alone just for cooling. Look at Dell's G15 and see the massive cooling blocks on it. And no Minecraft is not "gaming"
This laptop will outperform the g14 easily. Not saying the g14 is bad but in any laptop you end up sacrificing performance for a slim form factor. Also have to take noise into consideration as well, g14's are extremely loud under load.

It's played every AAA title I've thrown at it, and it doesn't throttle like my POS Dell G15 with 3060 does. The build is all aluminum, so it's excellent at dispersing heat. My Dell G15 is such a hunk of junk I don't even turn it on, and I paid over $1200 for it a couple years ago. Definitely a bad purchase for that Dell. Love the Asus G14 with oled screen, and 3lb weight. I use it with a Samsung 34" OLED and it works great for 1080P and 1440P gaming. I use the Nvidia stats and the temp never gets above 80, maybe 85 while in gaming. The POS Dell G15 *always* hit 100 and throttled, and it weighs twice as much. The G14 is an awesome little machine. Don't regret the purchase at all. Only title I've tried that it seemingly choked on a bit was Alan Wake 2. Everything else I'm able to get Decent FPS 80+ when I tweak the settings, which I'm happy with for the price I paid ($900). My only gripe with the G14 is the USBA ports are a little wonky, so I just use a USBC with a hub and have no problems otherwise
