You can. You just need to put your ssn and sole proprietorship as the business type and only you as the employee
Something's wrong with this deal description, says $95 annual fee and immediately after, No annual fee.

I think someone got their wires crossed between Ink Preferred and Ink Unlimited. Which one is the increased SUB actually for?
You don't need to. You can own a business with your ssn as sole proprietorship type. There is nothing faking about it. You can intend to start something and start slow after getting the card as well.

What did you put for a business name? If just your name, I'd just send in a picture of my driver's license.

There's a few cards that if you don't use them for a year or two will either close the card (reducing available credit) or send you a notice saying "hey if you don't use this soon we will close it" in which case you buy one thing then forget about it for another year or two.... But it's rare enough I don't worry about either.

The only reasons I close cards:

1) It has an annual fee that does not make sense to pay (The Amex Platinum card for example after you've gotten the signup bonus and don't have a good retention offer available-- for most folks it's not worth the annual fee YoY though there's exceptions--- while many other AF cards DO make sense (the many hotel cards that give a free night and other stuff for a $95 AF for example)

2) I want to churn that specific card, I qualify to do so under whatever rules the bank has, but you can't churn it while an existing one is open.

3) I want to churn some OTHER card but an existing card is preventing it (for example Amex only lets you have 4 or 5 open credit cards from them-- if I want a new SUB from them I might have to close an existing card).

Otherwise I leave everything open (another upside to that is I have so much available credit my overall utilization is never out of low single digits even when running through a big SUB or something)

thanks for the tips!

I got approved for a Chase Southwest business card on 9/11 how long do a I need wait before applying for this?

I've comments in here about 30 days and 90 days but those seems to be related to applications for INK cards. Does the same apply if one card is a Southwest Chase and the other is this Chase Ink?

Also what does being "shutdown" mean as it pertains to credit cards?

Here's a breakdown of all the Chase rules for applications and opening cards- 2/30 would be the relevant one here-

https://www.asksebby.com/guides/chase-rules

I'm not aware of any chase rules based on a 90 day window.

These rules generally apply to all chase cards, though the page does cite a couple that are specific to specific cards.

I signed up for the Ink Business Preferred back in March of this year. Would I be able to sign up for this unlimited as well?

At some point you need to register a business with state or county. They did not ask that to me when applying. Will you be able register with your name?

How is it possible for them to give a business card to non-business? Need EIN number on application

It's free to get an ein and just use your real name

Thanks and am I reading that correctly that Chase Business cards don't apply to the 5/24 rule? I've finally got beyond the 48 month Sapphire rule and IF they ever run a good SUB again would be nice to know if I can do it.

Chase looks at 5/24 when approving you for business cards but Chase business cards don't count towards 5/24. So you'd be safe to apply for a Sapphire even if you're 4/24 and get approved for a new Ink.

There have been recent reports that people have called chase to try and get approved after denial and they were told that business cards do count towards 5/24. Of course people were quick to reply that the chase reps were ill-informed and to call again to try and get a better rep but there's always a possibility that chase has changed their policy.

Business cards don't go on your personal credit report, so they definitely do not count toward increasing your 5/24 total (but they will check you are UNDER 5/24 when applying)

Are you referring to applying for business cards or Sapphire just to clarify? I don't care about Sapphire at this point but will apply for this card next week and am not sure I'm under or at 5/24 with business cards.
