It's $934 now with the BUYMORELENOVO code. If a beautiful 120Hz OLED display and an extra 32GB isn't important to you, then you can save an extra $145 but to me, OLED and 32GB is worth way more than $145.

This is not a gaming laptop.

64GB ram is overkill for most of the people and based on that, the other deal is attractive. But, there is Hell & Heaven difference between a 60 Hz 1080p 100% sRGB IPS display and this 120 Hz 2.8K OLED display and I would just go for this model just for that. The additional 32GB of Ram is added bonus.

Any way to get this down to this price + then the cost of the 5g add on?
"get this down to this price"? Not sure what "this" is?
You can add the 5G WWAN card (you have to search it out and add it to your cart) which then triggers additional coupon discounts for the card and a little more off the laptop. I tried that earlier this morning to see...

EDIT: Here's the WWAN card: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/ac...4xc1q24434

I thought that was an Intel thing. I'm a bit out of the game.
It used to be but it is not any more. Have you ever thought that how ARM based MacBooks are having TB3 or TB4, if it is an Intel only technology?
For the knowledge, Intel handed over the technology to USB Implementer Forums, around 2018, to make it open to any company, provided they meet the Thunderbolt's security and bandwidth criteria. USB4 is basically Thunderbolt 4 without official certification. HP business laptops with Ryzen 6000 series, have official Thunderbolt certifications.

Is it worth waiting for x1 carbon deals? I need an ultra portable work laptop. This seems to make the cut, but carbon seems to be a better build. Just not sure if it's worth the premium. Thoughts?

Carbon X1's are very expensive for what they are. Almost twice the price for lesser specs than this deal. If that's just due to build quality, the chassis better be gold plated! Wink

Can someone advise on whether or not this Thinkpad is a good solution for me?

I currently have this laptop from Microcenter https://slickdeals.net/f/17293606-asus-vivobook-pro-16x-16-laptop-i9-13980hx-16-1600p-16gb-ram-rtx-4070-1330-19-85-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo

Pros: Love the high refresh rate, RAM upgradability so it's currently on 48GB
Cons: I don't like the panel too much, the trackpad is terrible, and I unfortunately do not game so the 4070 is completely useless for me.

I mainly look for decent refresh (120 is nice, but 240 is preferred) with ~32GB memory and preferably an OLED panel. This looks like a great buy, but wanted to know if there's anything I might be missing on the forefront.

edit: BIG con is the terrible battery life. I can't have this on for more than 3 hours without grabbing that 240W brick. I understand it can be charged with USB-C but I would like to have it at peak performance at all times

I'm a big Thinkpad fan, currently have older gens. T450s, T440P, and T430s.

How will this compare to a T450s, that I use daily? Anybody Thinkpad fans have any thoughts?

Seems like the weight should be similar, build construction slightly worse, and less keyboard travel. Anything thing else? Thanks in advance.

I bought a Lenovo before and will never buy this brand again due to its hinge problem. Search google for this. A LOT OF USERS have this issue and it's costly to fix down the road.

Hat-Trick means the 32GB deal is now at $934, not $850.

This actually has slower RAM than the old 7840U model (lpddr5x 6400 vs ddr5 5600). The 7840U had soldered ram but it's not like you'll upgrade from 64gb anyway.

Better display though (90Hz after edid hack on the old vs 120 on the new)

I'm having a hard time finding this $934 deal that everybody is referencing in this thread. Can somebody please link it?

It's expired, but if you play around with the coupon codes from this (current) deal, you may get it down to around $950
