Anyone got insight on if these batteries are any good? Don't think so but haven't really seen or heard of any actual testing.
Short answer is if you need a battery for your Dewalt tool, shoot for a Dewalt Branded battery from an authorized dealer.

This specific battery is a solid option for DIYers or homeowners who may only have smaller (I.e. 1.5mAH) batteries. May not be as good of an option for contractors or carpenters that need longer run times.

Price is solid for this model. People normally say to shoot for $10 per mAh, but have not seen that since Covid. Will expect more sales like this as stores push out legacy batteries for the new Powerstack models.

3ah battery is a happy medium of 'mAh' vs. weight for most DIY'er. At this price for a reputable seller, DeWalt branded, (as of late) you probably won't find a better deal.

Pretty much. Probably need more Ah on outdoor tools, less on stuff like drills. Usually I'll run a 1 on an impact I use in the house all the time, and a 5 on a string trimmer or blower. Since I don't use the impact a ton at any given time I don't need a lot of run time and instead value lower weight. With some tools, the heavy batteries actually throw off balance and ergonomics tremendously. e.g. a handheld blower, a 9ah battery makes it really difficult to use with one hand because the weight of the battery makes the unit want to cock upwards so you have to constantly apply downward pressure on the front via wrist torque.

This does not look like a compact battery though, it looks like the same form factor as the 5.0ah battery, which would mean it weighs about the same. It probably just has the same number of batteries but cheap cells. I hope im wrong, but looks like the only thing this one has going for it is being relatively cheap.

Why is this not helpful? Are they different batteries?

Just a heads up, this battery is roughly the same size and weight as the 5ah Battery. You usually can get a tool with free battery kit that includes 2 5ah batteries, charger and bag around the fall shopping season. That is a way better deal for batteries that last 66% longer for the same size as the 3ah. The black Friday deals probably don't start for a month though.
